I started with an Ericsson that is so old the model number escapes me, needless to say it was a brick.

Got a Nokia 5146 but the screen went on it. Also the speaker was a bit dodgy and sometimes wouldn't ring.

Got another more recent 5146 but the screen was far to dim to be seen properly.

Now got a Nokia 5210 but the screen backlight flickers when it shouldn't.

Not had much luck with Nokia handsets!

1st one was a brick from Peoples Phone (remember them?) in about 1994-1995?

Gave that up, then had a Motorola pager for a year or so!

Then went on Orange and have had the following, upgrading after each 12 months:

Mitsubishi MT401
Nok 3210
Nok 3330

And current phone is a Sagem myX5.

No!! I mean, yeh there great lookin fones, no questioning that - but the number of problems with them are immense.

I know 5 people with them - First person managed to let it roll down a hard concrete drive which broke the power button (which i guess is his fault)

2nd's fone still works but continuously switching itself off, esp during txting

3rd fone just died one day for no reason

4th person - left it in a bathroom, the condensation knackedred the keypad thingy.

5th person - the switch off problem again.

So altho they look great, look out for problems.

Sorry if i'm talkin crap, its late and i've been up since 5am. :'(

Damn! I though I was going to be the only Alcatel owner on the list!

I got an Alcatel Db because my wife was pregnant and it was only £35 and relatively small. Recently, with the old phone's battery packing up, I bought the Alcatel (310?) for £45 odd quid, because they were switching over to the the WAP ones with changeable covers. Me, I don't need WAP, and I prefer the red metallic cover of the 310, as it gives it a Naboo stylee

I know that Nokias are what everyone aspires to, but I think Alcatels have a certain cache now

My first one was a NovAtel TM2, still using an orange nk402
but the screen is starting to fade at times.
Although by today standards it is a brick but it has given
me no trouble at all.
