My Tivo box EPG still has the listings for Jimmy Fallon, I haven't watched for a couple of weeks but taped last nights as Eddie Redmayne and Lily Collins were supposed to be on. I just watched it and was very confused/disappointed to see a completely different programme. Not keen on Seth Meyers and much prefer Jimmy Fallon.

Well CNBC seem to have gone into "can't be bothered mode" and have repeated the Seth Meyers Oct 27th show for the second day in a row.

![]() Unfortunately your last chance to see the Eddie Redmayne episode on E! (assuming you have E!) was a repeat at lunchtime today. But if you have Sky it'll be available on catch-up, if it's not already.

Thanks for the replies!.
I don't have the E channel but do have Syfy and have just noticed it's also on Universal at 11pm. And it's for an hour not the half an hour that CNBC showed. As for the Eddie Redmayne episode no worries as I have come across it via other means.

Pffft. CNBC showing the same Late Night episode yet again! The 26/10 one, with the jokes about Hillary's birthday (as mentioned a few posts above).
How does this work? Do they have to apply to the Peacock to get the new episodes? Or are they just chickening out to show anything "controversial" about You-Know-Who? |

CNBC had issues receiving The Tonight Show sometimes, as I’ve said earlier in this thread, the quality of some shows were terrible. Interestingly it appears E! receive the show differently. The CNBC broadcasts of The Tonight Show still had the NBC logo in the bottom left corner – suggesting it was a direct recording of an NBC feed. Whereas the E! broadcasts of The Tonight Show don’t have the NBC logo – suggesting they receive some sort of ‘clean’ version of each show, presumably via a download file. |

Can we please talk about how hysterical the David Blaine bit was?
![]() Even though the whole act was I couldn't stop laughing at their reactions ![]() Also, in other news the Tonight Show is nominated for the Critics' Choice Awards. Best Talk Show. It's up against Corden, Kimmel, Noah's Daily Show (a bit of a surprise??), and of course John Oliver who is probably going to win even though it's not really a talk show but it will be deserved, to be frank. |

As for the Critic’s Choice Awards nominations – I agree that Last Week Tonight with John Oliver will probably win, and that it’s probably deserved. In fact, I suspect that once all the other hosts see John Oliver on the list of nominations they probably know they don’t have much of a chance of winning. ![]() The other notable thing about the list of nominations is that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has been overlooked again. I think it’s been absent from just about every major award nominations list this year, whilst The Late Late Show with James Corden has been on just about all of them. It’s a bit of an awkward situation for CBS, and Colbert himself. |

An audience member? What part of the show was that... it sounds like ‘Bar Tricks’ from The Late Late Show rather than The Tonight Show!

![]() As for the Corden thing, it doesn't look good for Colbert but he has only really gotten into his stride. I would think that if he carries on as he is especially in this political climate he may pick up a few nominations soon. As will Seth Meyers if he continues becoming a viral internet hit with the A Closer Look bits. |

A tad irresponsible, Jimmy, sorry - that was plain nasty. (Wherever that frog ended up, it can't exactly have been five star accommodation...)

How come this isn't on SyFy and Universal tonight?

I don't remember seeing a "no animals were harmed" disclaimer on this show ever. Not for the puppy quiz puppies, the cats that Samuel L Jackson yelled at, that awful animal guy (who I'm assuming was barred from the show after last time). I guess people just assume no harm came to the animals.

It was a bit odd it was also on Universal, and especially SyFy. |

Although I think the authenticity of the voting should be called into question when I have already voted for him 10+ times (I feel bad for the guy) and I'm not even in the US! |

I’m not sure The Tonight Show really normally requires a "no animals were harmed" disclaimer, it’s fairly safe to assume that in the bits you’ve mentioned that the animals are treated decently. But with the ‘swallowing the live frog’ trick, I’d like to think (hope) no actual harm came to the frog, but I agree a disclaimer would be normal practice in such event (on UK television it would anyway).
Maybe it was just for the first couple weeks to help promote its launch on E! It was a bit odd it was also on Universal, and especially SyFy. |

Trevor Noah's show is far far better than John Stewarts... His show is one long boring monologue that seems to last an hour
(He could help anyone with sleeping problems I'm sure) Bill Mayer and Seth's shows are also well recommended - both hammer Trump.....

Last Week Tonight definitely deserves the award from that list, although it is stretching the definition of talk show!
I suppose it has to fit into a category somewhere, and ‘Best Talk Show’ feels the most appropriate... and technically he IS talking. ![]() Quote:

For me, John Oliver’s show goes into more depth on a subject and therefore the writing feels of a higher quality. But that is because his show, on HBO, allows him the freedom to do that – where as the format of The Daily Show on Comedy Central doesn’t. But everyone if of course entitled to their own opinion, it would be boring if we all liked the same thing.

Metallica with the Roots singing Enter Sandman with Classroom Instruments may well turn out to be my favourite thing about this year
They all looked like they were having so much fun! Made me laugh and I really needed to laugh.Jude Law dressed as Boy George with the hat. The Roots should have played Karma Chameleon for him. Nicole Kidman is back tonight (tomorrow for E! watchers). Whenever I'm feeling down, that interview from 2015 is one of the videos I watch ![]() . It was so awkward but so genuine

I assume you already know, but the classroom instruments things is a recurring bit on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. They’re all on YouTube, and they’re always really good. I’d find it hard to choose a favourite.
Classroom Instruments is a fun bit. The one with Adele was great but I will always have a special place in my heart for the Christmas ones. Latest show...The Nicole Kidman story just gets more and more awkward. Once was bad enough but twice?? Wow. Talk about being oblivious. Also, the whole couple-y thing with Keith Urban was cringey. I applaud Jimmy for carrying on like that wasn't happening. Michael Shannon is a legend. I hate saying "...is a legend" but he really is. Love him. Loved the jorts and the Hawaiian shirt. The book with only 20 pages.

I'm listening to the Hamilton Mixtape right now.... I'm amazed. I'm shocked. I knew he could sing but I never knew he could sing like that. I mean wow. How on earth???

I assume you’re listening to the actual mix tape, not their performance on The Tonight Show? I thought they aren’t scheduled to perform on the show until this week sometime...
![]() The Roots killed that performance, by the way. It's fun when every now and again they remind people they're an actual legendary-status band. Meanwhile, my favourite bit of the year is back! - 12 Days of Christmas Sweaters. Ellen can give out $1000 worth of tech gadgets but I'd still probably want to win a terrible LED light up fireplace sweater more. Here's hoping everyone sticks to their numbers this time and no one steals someone else's sweater. |
