I thought all the extra timber that Busta Rhymes was carrying clearly knackered him out

That coat didn't help him either. It was something wasn't it?!

Dear god that coat !!

It was like he'd slung an animal over his shoulders and carried it around.

Meanwhile, my favourite bit of the year is back! - 12 Days of Christmas Sweaters. Ellen can give out $1000 worth of tech gadgets but I'd still probably want to win a terrible LED light up fireplace sweater more.

Here's hoping everyone sticks to their numbers this time and no one steals someone else's sweater.
I like the 12 Days of Christmas Sweaters too. Although a couple of years ago Fallon went all ‘Ellen’ and gave away big prizes to everyone in the audience too. I’m surprised they are doing new shows all the way until 23rd Dec.

Has someone tried to claim someone else’s jumper before then?

The big giveaway was in 2014 when he started on the Tonight Show. It felt forced, like they had a budget after spending so long scrimping around for cheap prizes so they wanted to show it off. The sweaters however suit the tone of the show more. People said it was the show being cheap, it's not. Rather have the personal sweater than a 50inch TV. Something you can attach a memory to rather than a gadget you throw out after a while, but that's just me.

As for the show continuing until the 23rd, he did this last year too. I think it was only the Tonight Show that had new shows that Christmas week. Everything else was on a break or repeats.

Re: The Texan Sweater Thief of 2015. I don't think it had happened before. They wrongly assumed people would play by the rules. Diane from Texas pretended she won the sweater and had no shame. At least Jimmy gave the actual winner (who came from Bulgaria to watch the show!) another sweater during the ad break and apologised for the mix-up.

Wow, the Texan Sweater Thief incident sounds extremely awkward! How did they honestly think they were going to get away with claiming a prize that was won be someone else in a completely different seat number!? Did they just hope the real winner wouldn’t speak up and no one would notice?!? Unless the thief was in the seat next to the winning seat and it could have been an honest mix up (I’ve been in The Tonight Show audience and the seat numbers are on the armrests, so I could see a mix up possibly happening in that case).

I agree about the giveaways, although I don’t think it’s a budget thing – all the prizes are given to the show for free in return for the on air promotion (same as Ellen). I agree the jumpers giveaway just feels better. The big prize giveaways could be considered ‘selling out’ a bit (sorry Ellen fans!).
I also like it when Conan does a ‘big prize giveaway’, like throwing donuts into the audience, whist saying “you don’t get this on Ellen”. Being taped on the same lot makes it even funnier, joking that his audience are people who couldn’t get into Ellen. Ellen even made a walk on appearance a couple of years ago too.

.
Whenever they give out gifts, I always like to remember that the audience have to pay tax on the gifts (about 20% of their value if the gift is over $13K). You'd be surprised that after all the screaming how many audience members actually leave empty handed

No, she was nowhere near the actual winner. She saw an opportunity and went for it. It was pretty stupid. They've long since taken down the video of the actual incident but the attempted damage control is still up

This is why 12 Days of Christmas Sweaters is the best. In fact all the prizes on this show are small in relation to other shows but at least the audience members get to keep them without worrying about the taxman.

when Questlove didn't believe that it was a real song

It is real! It's on Youtube and every single comment is 'omg it's real???'

I love when Jimmy gets so into the Do Not Play bits. I still watch one the old ones from Late Night from time to time - 'do you have a garter belt?' still cracks me up

I don't think i've seen the 'do you have a garter belt' one. i'll have to find that.

listening to the full version of 'golf kart' (or cart i suppose!), it's interesting to see where they made the cut for the clip to play on the show. i suppose they had the idea for the miming bit first and snipped the track accordingly.
