I am very surprised by mine they generally run at the slightest sounds but both quite happily sat by the window and watched fireworks going of in the distance.

Im not sure to be honest I got a rescue baby about 4 months ago so I have no idea how she is going to react unfortunately I am actually away this weekend 70th birthday at Centre Parks booked long before I got Smudge but thankfully I have very lovely next door neighbours who are going to feed her and keep and eye on hershe will be locked in tho! Im not taking any chances of her getting terrified by fireworks and legging it |

What I do with my dog is act normal and calmly, I ignore firework bangs and act as if they are not happening. I don't fuss and don't mollycoddle him.
I was in the field the other evening with a firework display going on next to the field I was in. It was very noisy as you can imagine. I continually played with him, throwing frisbees, kicking bottles, playing tug of war etc with me being cheerful and making happy sounds..... generally keeping him very busy. He coped very well. If I'm fine about it then he's fine. Anyway, the fireworks stopped and I went home bloody knackered.

My cat jumps off my lap at the first bang and disappears - I think she goes outside, which is a pretty daft thing to do in the circumstances, even for a cat.
![]() I have signed the petition, too. Used to have dogs and I know what they go through. |

She's desperate to go out, but I'm keeping her in tonight. The fireworks have already started.
Typical cat - when she could have gone out for a wander round this morning, she was more interested in lying on top of my bed sleeping ! |

Signed. Our little dog, Bob, is hysterical already, nothing we do can soothe him.

https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/168663 How are you lot coping? I don't mind November 5th or the weekend before it but they are going of everywhere here all the time. This was debated in parliament in June this year due to someone starting a petition last year. This was the government's response: "We are aware that fireworks can cause distress to animals. Restrictions on the general public’s use of fireworks, and permitted noise levels, already exist and we have no plans to extend them." https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/109702 You can watch the 2 hour debate here: http://parliamentlive.tv/Event/Index...b-0c136d4d1501 |

Have you tried either the radio or TV on a little louder then usual to try and block the sound out a bit.
We have tried plug ins, sprays, thunder shirts over the years and we really don't want to go down the " sedation" road. Poor little chap. |

Yep, doing that. Made him a den in the bathroom and we have now pulled the sofa away from the wall and he is behind there now.

My 2 cats are fine, fast asleep. My whippet Tux is stressed AF. Fireworks been going off for a couple of hours here. He's had Rescue Remedy and a makeshift thundershirt type wrap but he's still panting, pacing, licking his lips and shaking like jelly. 😔
