Yeah, some shortened names work and some don't - both of these are totally cringeworthy.

I think they were a little more avergae this year than last. The gorilla suit and Kerry's stripper outfit were just ready made costumes. Finn's costume had a lot of effort put in as did Sam's and Leyla's though.
