I think I can speak for most of us who are bored out our brains with the current state that we don't want murders and explosions every week and if i did I would start watching Hollyoaks.

i just can't see why we can't get a happy medium, I can see writing and character interaction has improved but if nothing is happening i ask myself what's the point

Precisely. I really don't understand why so many people don't get what's going on. There are so many stories building that it's blindingly obvious that it's not going to be long before they start boiling over - this week probably given the impending wedding. We're in the rebuilding stage as has been said many times but to think that nothing interesting or exciting is ever going to happen again is quite frankly ludicrous.

SOC knows what he's doing and he wouldn't have got the job if his vision didn't match up to what the BBC wanted to do with the show and where they wanted to take it post-DTC. It couldn't continue as it was, the stories and characters were pretty much burnt out. It was exhausting to watch, that's now changed and he's prepared the ground for the stories that have been building up.

I suspect that part of the "nothing's happening" compaints stem from the lack of leaks and spoilers. We know little more than that a few characters are leaving but few other details or plots, so it's natural to think nothing exciting is planned simply because nothing has been said or teased. I get that thought process but TBH it's completely illogical and doesn't follow at all. The BBC clearly wants to keep a lot more of their plans under wraps than has been the case (and I think it's refreshing in this modern world where everyone is more focused on tomorrow than today) and they're doing it b****y well. Too well, perhaps!

TWD has relied heavily on violence, and while I loved it, to elicit the reaction it did, it needed to do something VERY gruesome.

The Fall had a tension simmering along that just suddenly boiled over in that interview room.

People become desensitised to constant violence and sensationalism - at least I do, it's why I stopped watching Hollyoaks.

I'm enjoying EastEnders at the moment, the characterisation is good (I would have said spot on before those bizarre Sharon/Phil scenes tonight), and the writers have actually managed to make me care about Whitney and her latest doomed relationship, which no one has ever done before.

Having said that... it does need to be leading somewhere a little bit bigger. It doesn't need to be bigger all the time, but the intrigue is one of the things keeping it going for me at the moment, and if it never boils over, it'll become flat.”

Unfortunately I have not been able to watch The walking dead since it was taken off Freeview.

Although Z-Nation is great fun and is crazier than a sh*thouse rat!

I think that all of the storylines will come to a climax at one point or another (ooh er missus!).

By the way the one tiny flaw in The Fall finale was Stella still having any face or teeth left after Spector attacked her - the man was freakishly strong.

I will be disappointed (if that's the word) if Lee does not kill himself - if Danny is leaving for good it would be an excellent opportunity to educate the masses on the horrors of the Black Dog - the greatest serial killer of them all.

Plus the ramifications for all of the other characters involved would be far reaching and permanent.
