Formatting an Android Smartphone microSD

Just got a cheapo Homtom HT17 with only 8GB RAM. My first ever Smartphone.

I bought a new 32GB Sandisk Class 10 microSD card.

Is it better for the phone to format this for internal use (apps etc) where it can only be used on this handset, or to format as a Portable card?

Stick it in the phone, then when you don't want to use it in the phone any more, take it out and reformat it.

Thanks for the reply. I found this, which is what I am on about

http://www.howtogeek.com/242937/how-...extra-storage/

I'm tempted to format the card as Internal. But I did try that with an 8GB temporary microSD card and was getting half my my new apps not working/crashing on launch.

Since I now see this formatting choice is a new feature with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, maybe less people are able to definitively advise.

I'll just bung it in and go with it as Internal.

I don't really need to be taking in and out anyway. I can use the OTG USB cable to get data in and out. I have other cards for general use too.
