Perhaps Sharon plans to make sure Ben gets his share by her being in the will.

Sharon has never been a gold digger.

Tbh I hope Phil does die and Sharon uses the money to buy the Vic back and the Mitchells all shack up once again in their rightful home.

Not how it was portrayed, that is completely disingenuous.

We saw Sharon warming to Phil again played out over several months, it wasn't just because she found out he was dying and thought there might be a few quid in it for her. She has stuck by him throughout his entire illness. If she didn't love Phil she'd have taken Grant up on his offer but she didn't.

It's always the same people looking for an excuse to label Sharon a gold digger. At the time Peggy died it was the same posters claiming Sharon was sticking around to get her money, when nothing that actually happened on screen had suggested that. Sharon ensuring she is left in a financially secure position after her husband's death is not gold digging, otherwise she'd ensure the entire lot was left solely to her.

If this was any character but Sharon there wouldn't be such a furore over this. Fact.

She soon stopped bulging her eyes over Grant when she found out he was penniless. Coincidence?

More like she realised she was losing her meal ticket.

I prefer to go by what has been evidenced in the show for the last 4 years.

Grant was bankrupt.

And what about Phil's baby with Denise? What about his/her share? Nappies, prams and formula milk aren't cheap you know. That kid deserves some money purely for having the misfortune of being conceived by Philth.

Sharon isn't a gold digger.
It's a fact.

That's a fair point- the writers in 2012 really destroyed her

I'm more surprised at the hate Sharon is getting considering how homophobic Phil was being over it all.

I guess it shows where people's priorities lay, go crazy over the homophobia from Phil or get mad at Sharon for being pissed Phil was leaving everything to a 14 year old child.

Why that episode doesn't look good on her, I can see her reasons if they do come across as misguided.

I'm more disgusted at Phil, to leave his son out is nothing short of a big up yours and pretty much says he favours Louise not to even leave him the Arches a business his running and working in, to be left without nothing, when he willing to donate to save Phil's life, I would be fuming.

Yep, then forcing him to change his Will immediately incase he croaks it before her and Denny get their share of his estate. She was literally leering over him, like a lion hunting a buffalo and that smirk when he signed the papers.

The writing for Sharon is truly appalling. Any longstanding viewer regardless of whether they like sharon or not knows full well she isn't a gold digger.

Sean o connor seems to be continuing in this vein which is all wrong.

Trying to have a reasoned debate about Sharon on here is like trying to get blood out of a stone. Her detractors refuse to see nuance. Any excuse to get a dig in. Pathetic really, but so predictable now.

He wasnt in debt. He just didn't have the cash to give Grant. He still had his house and businesses. In the end he did rustle up some cash for Grant.

Or maybe he knows how unpredictable and destructive Phil is with money and his businesses, he fond of destroying what he owns, Louise is a child and has is noway in any place to know what to do with such a inheritance, if he even got any money left, he could be heavily in debt for all we know, the only business that he has that is earning any money is the Arches and a house we presume he owns outright.

R&R never been mentioned and the car lot still in disuse.

I am not one of Sharon's detractors, I normally like her. I don't anymore

But you don't even recognise that as a character over 30 plus years she isn't a gold digger regardless of the nonsensical writing since 2012 for her.

Sharon has always looked after number one. It's in her nature. She takes after Den (and her biological father it seems).

Well that's blatantly not true.

I'm going to have to go off this thread I think

Most are just expressing on what was shown, from her angry outburst to not being included, forcing Phil to change it there and then and finally that smirk when he signed it to me was a gold digger.
Her and Philth were over, and its coming across as if she only meddled her way back into the Mitchells so she could be rewarded with some cash after Philth's liver rots away and he dies.
