The 1989 tenancy act fixed the rates of social rented properties and unless the tenant dies and doesn't have family living there, the rate doesn't change. Doubt this would be the case with Dot as I'm sure that property has changed hands.

June Brown being pushed to the front of the show has been brilliant (and Rudolph Walker, too, who seems to be getting material for the first time in a decade).

If you've got a fantastic actor like June on the production, use her!

So long as June has her health and is happy to keep acting, I hope she stays for a long while yet.

Ditto. I remember her complaining in an interview not so long ago about how DTC wasn't using her. Madness to cast aside an actress of June's talents. Dot is one of the true icons of soap left. They must make the most of her while they still can.

Absolutely. The same goes for Rudolph Walker too (I am old enough to remember him in Love Thy Neighbour back in the early 70's).

She's a great asset to the show. Long may she thrive.

Exactly June and Rudolph were the stars of last nights show.

She really is an inspiration for us all. Whether you like the character or not, no one can deny that for a woman of June's age she is incredible. Also like to add to the praise of Rudolph Walker, another extraordinary actor. Both are two legends and I'd love to see them remain on the show for the foreseeable future

I don't blame June for complaining about the lack of screentime for Dot but they have to be careful about the amount of material they're giving her because she is almost 90 and they don't want to tire her out. June is one of the nation's finest actresses and when she is given big material, she always delivers.
