Am I going mad
Did anyone else hear Sam Dingle say Hiya Liam to Dan at Kerry's party tonight. It was as he (Dan) was dressed as Elvis and Sam as a werewolf. He called across the room to him Hiya Liam (the real name of the chap playing Dan. I know Sam can be a tad thick , surely he knows the difference, but everyone else just carried on as normal and didn't blow the filming. I played it back just in case I had misheard. but it was clear enough

He says hey who are you

Or at least that's what the subtitles say

Oh and Sam is the character not the actor? It is the actor who says the lines. Plus they surely would have done another take it's not like it is aired live

Goodness me, never known DS posters to be so offish in replies as some are lately. I know Sam is a character, I also know it's the actor who says the lines. Perhaps because I was trying to make my post clearer you really thought I was being extra thick, or maybe you were confirming my question when I asked if I was going mad
As for doing a retake. Yes of course they could, but then they wouldn't be able to put it in their blooper section or maybe use it in one of those programmes that some people put on TV.
Some days, I wonder why I take part in DS. When I first joined it used to be a good fun and mostly lighthearted banter. Now I'm not too sure.

We all knew who was meant when they said Sam so why all the fuss....Some people are so picky .

Sad to say it's because DS has lost some of the fun moments we all try to create and some of us (me included as I answered back, sorry) like to be picky on the posts. I will try harder not to answer back when my post is replied to in a way I felt was making me out to be a complete dunderhead
Perhaps I should take my own advice and not answer until I feel in the right frame of mind, so I don't upset anyone.

I didn't hear that, but I did wonder why Zak was so concerned that the dog wasn't excited about Belle's return. Took me a few seconds to realise he said ' Doc'

I answered your post, what more do you want. I wasn't being rude but your response comes across that way. If you have a problem with my post kindly click alert instead of discussing how "rude" it is. I was being nice and explaining in response to your post that didn't make complete sense by bad I won't in future.

Oh and FYI, the first cut would be used in a blooper show if he had said Hi Liam. It wouldn't need to air for it to be used in one of those shows

Thank you again for explaining how TV shows operate, but please if you have time just re read how you explained about the character being called Sam and that actors say the words. When I first read that it did sound rather rude to me. As I said before for a lighthearted post I thought the response was a tad offish. Obviously, our SOH differs greatly.
But if you read my next post you would have seen I did say a general sorry for replying without thinking as I too seemed picky.
FYI I was just expressing a general thought about how DS has changed over the years, once it was fun to post now it seems quite a few posters like to get far too serious. Then sadly it gets into a viscous circle of rants. Just as we have proved

The problem with text is that it's hard to express meaning and tone in a way that you could face to face, so sometimes things can be interpreted differently than what was originally meant. I'm sure it wasnt your intention at all, I wouldn't have interpreted as rude anyhoo,.

My OH has a slight hearing problem but always tells me it's my fault when he talks quietly as some do when they can't hear themselves. So after getting fed up of getting told this I had a test to be told nothing was wrong with mine. I explained why I had the test, the lovely chap said that he would gladly go through the test results with my OH to make it clear it was not a problem on my side.
It was great passing on that message to my OH

Yes he said Hey Liam, well at least on the UTV braodcast. We even went back to double check as we were surprised a mistake like that would be broadcast.

Aah thanks Cazza so pleased it wasn't just me. Also at least now I know I'm not going gaga just yet I checked it a couple of times and was sure that was what was said, but then thought maybe it was because it was stuck in my mind so I believed it.
