If you could go back and play one game for the first time again what would it be? |

Defender - in the Arcades, in the early/mid eighties - lunchtime at middle school, spending my lunch money on a feast lolly.
Happy days ![]() Console- wise it might be the original Gran Turismo - felt revolutionary graphically at the time. |

So many games I would love to go back to play for the first time again. But I'll say Enslaved Odyssey to the West, I just loved the characters and story.

I don't think i would pick any game. I have the memories of playing those games now, i wouldn't want to change them.

Skyrim, without a doubt. Despite that fact I'm yet to complete the main quest in hundreds of hours play time, still can't beat that initial discovery time!

Fallout 3. One of the few games I wanted to play again straight away after finishing it.

Highly unoriginal but Final Fantasy 7.
I remember playing 8-10 hours of it and being amazed by it and the story - then I reached the point where you leave Midgar and discovered the world map for the first time - mind blowing.........It felt like nothing I'd ever played before, and to be fair since. The story and the characters were great and it was one of the first games I had an emotional reaction to. |

My criteria would be a game which was phenomenal on first play-through and in which that first play-through was designed to be your "definitive" one. So, for example, God of War III would be one of my favourite games of all-time, but my best playthrough was definitely not my first. I think I got more out of it every time.
So, based on that criteria, my decision is an easy one - Heavy Rain. I got heavily invested into the story but absolutely cocked it up near the end. Meant I got the second worst ending possible. I played it a second time and got the best ending, but of course, that meant nothing to me. I had messed it up the first time and that still irks me even today

Heavy Rain, most other games I can play again and still enjoy it almost as much at the first time whereas replaying this just isn't the same as it was the first time.

Metropolis Street Racer (Dreamcast)
The Project Gotham Racing series would come late and indeed were based off MSR. To be honest, I wouldn't say MSR was great, it was just ok, but it brings back a few good memories of playing it with my girl with a beer in hand. Nostalgic man. |

I think most would chose their favorite all time game?
I would play Link To The Past for the first time again, Broken Sword 1 and Tomb Raider 1 are close too. |

Oblivion. Exiting the sewer for the first time and discovering the true scope of the game world was a great moment.

Giving my "Old Gamer" vintage away here, but dial your minds back to late 1995 or early 1996, can't quite remember when I bought it exactly. Put this strange new genre game: Command and Conquer into my PC and could not quite believe what I was seeing.

Loads. Final Fantasies VII and X, GTA: San Andreas, Fallout 3 and the original Tomb Raider would be cracking to experience again as I was utterly blown away by all of them.
The one that stands before all others would be Silent Hill 2 though. I still believe it to be one of the finest written and most atmospheric games in existence. I don't think a game has ever got to me in quite the same way! |
