First of all when do you see trick and treating going on during the daytime on halloween? I always thought it was something that happened after dark. And yet Albert Square was full of kids banging on doors in the middle of the day. And why arent they back at school?

Then the pub is packed at 5pm with adults and kids all dressed in costumes.

Then some little kids apparently lift up heavy beer barrels and smuggle them to into the square in broad daylight and no one sees a thing!

What complete and utter tosh!

Why would small kids be walking around London in the dark?

EastEnders 1989 - trick or treating in the middle of the day. Must be a Walford thing.

I agree with you about the barrels though.

Yes it was very poor really. Also is if 4 little girls who were no more than about 9 would be banging so hard on the windows and being so aggressive yet then when they received sweets from patrick they were so polite, why didn't they knock on anyone else's door, had to be Dots didn't it!

The barrels being robbed, another pointless, badly thought out storyline that had no substance or point to it.
The bailiffs, as if a guy would wait outside for ages, as if they have no other people to go and visit!

The show gets worse, I cannot understand why some are praising SOC and the show given how boring its become, the lack of attention to detail like why aren't the kids back at school, where are their parents too! Then again its always the same people that defend the show whatever is happening, they won't have a had word said about it.
Probably the worst Halloween episode in the history of EE.

The beer barrels was just stupid. It's one thing have new or empty ones taken but kids disconnecting those in the cellar from the pumps was just nonsense.

At least we can perhaps now assume that Linda's departure will be to Watford to look after Elaine. It's even possible that Lee could go with her.

That's not really fair, i know a lot of posters who are now enjoying the show really hated it under DTCs stint like myself.

I love EastEnders but I won't praise it if it doesn't deserve it.

I didn't think it was dreadful but I was hoping for a bit more drama. Dot was the best thing about the episode. And yes, some of it bordered on farce.

Absolutely. You literally can't remove a barrel from a pump without the contents spraying across the entire room. I've worked in pubs and seen this happen countless times.

Besides, there is no way a child would be able to move a barrel. They are stupidly heavy.

It was a rubbish episode.

Apparently people take kids trick treating in the middle of the day, first I've heard of it.

I think it chalks up who the weak writers are.

It was AWFUL...

I did laugh out loud with the super loud banging on Dot's door and then it turned out to be two / three nine year olds...

How dare you bring logic and reason into this!

It was poorly written. Dot's speech about bad things happening on Halloween missed out Nick coming back to haunt her just 2 years ago!

It was awful, Halloween is usually very good in EastEnders. Rob Gittens was the writer he is normally one of my favourites sorry but the show is in a bad way at the moment.

And what about the people who never have a good word to say about it? It makes more sense to enjoy a show you always watch than to always watch a show you think is rubbish.

Bad things are always happening in Walford, if Dot starts dwelling on them she'd never leave her bed

She was all set to organise the Chirstmas show last year and look at how many bad things have happened over the festive period!

If a pub had its barrels stolen wouldn't the first thing you would do is ring the police? Or is that too much like common sense

And the second would be to let Mick know!

the barrels being stolen was ridiculous & unrealistic, as was the bailiffs, I don't think Belinda has been in business long enough to have racked up enough outstanding debt, most people get 30 days before they are considered late, & then there are more grace periods before a bailiff is summoned, another unrealistic s.l. Has the salon even been open for a month yet?

The problem with EastEnders is that it only looks on the dark side of life. There is just no real tenderness and nothing good ever happens!

A lot of kids in my area didn't go back to school yesterday. They had an inset day and went back today. I live half hour train journey from London.

Even if the kids of walford weren't back at school yesterday, they wouldn't have got many sweets going trick or treating in the daytime as most of the population was at work.
