EE - Is Geraldine set to take over the Vic?
So Geraldine Clough is back soon, she's a landlady of the Feathers. But do you think we could see her as the head of a new family that replaces the Carters.
Where could the Carters go if they no longer owned the Vic? Would you prefer if the Carters stayed? Would a new family work in the Vic? Is Gwenyth Strong the right actress for the pivotal role as pub landlady? |

Of course a new family would work in the Vic, the Carters were a new family but I can't see them being replaced right now and I can't see quite how they'd fit in elsewhere if they didn't run the Vic.
If Geraldine is to head up a new family, it would seem to be a little odd that they decided to make her a landlady. They didn't need to do that just for the one or two scenes we've already had. She could have been the captain of the Feathers' darts team but not necessarily the landlady and could have been given any type of employment of the writers' choosing. |

I dont think Gwyneth Strong is a strong enough Actress to be the Vic Landlady on her own but if she had a well known Actor cast as her Husband co running the pub with her it could well work.

For some reason I really hate the second name and it doesn't sound very EastEnders.

No. Couldn't stand her tbh. Can ww kill Mick and have Linda/Shirley )in the future after Kellie's break) just run the vic? Or see Ian try and fail for a few months?

I highly doubt the Carters will be leaving the Vic any time soon.

I'd only want Geraldine as landlady if Mo Mouse is landlord.

I think the carters would have to leave. Unlike Kat and Alfie, working in & running pubs has been the carters lifelong career. If they sold the vic they would surely buy another pub elsewhere leading to an exit from the square I couldn't' see them doing other jobs in the square. Sorry to compare with Kat n Alfie but Alfie really struggled as a character outside of the vic, whilst he conned his way into the job in the first place he did kind of work behind the bar. Kat however was better before and after she was in the vic (in my humble opinion). |

Oh gawd I hope not. Mick and Linda shouldn't be turfed out of the Vic for someone like Geraldine and I wasn't fond of the character.
