Claude's got his biography -- Single Minded -- out in time for Christmas, and there are a couple of chapters about The Apprentice: one on the interviews; one on being the eyes and ears of Alan Sugar during the tasks, with details from last year.

One thing I'd not realised is that even during the tasks themselves, Claude and Karren email updates to Lord Sugar (and cc each other).

Claude also refutes the common complaint that the tasks are not relevant to the prize.

To be fair I suppose it'd make sense that Claude and Karen email LS while the tasks are ongoing, there's only so many times the candidates can mess up before it all just blurs into one giant mistake.

Many people complain that both speak about a candidate while following the other team - so therefore should not.

So now we know why.

And I should like to read this book - so many thanks because I was not aware of it.

Picked up my copy at Claude's signing event a week ago - he is actually a top bloke and you can see that really he just wants people to do things well and properly. I have only had a quick flick through so far, but it is well-written in the style you might expect. The Apprentice bits are interesting - there is a lot of info flowing about, which we don't see in the progs.

Ive always got the impression from his various YF appearances that hes really just a nice guy playing a role for the camera when it comes to interviews a la Simon Cowell. I'm glad to hear that he came across just as well in person! I may get the book, it'll be interesting to read up on behind the scenes details.

Always seemed an odd complaint to me - it's logical Lord Sid and his "eyes and ears" would have a good old conflab before the boardroom. Probably they also see some of the footage from the day too.

Yes for course it is because you are right.

But the people who complain do so because they dislike and/or Claude or Karren and ignore the obvious.

The interview chat Claude did at the book launch was filmed and will be available as a podcast from LeadersIn soon. https://leadersin.com/leaders/ He is just a little pussycat really!

The Liberty's task -- choose products to sell as a concession in a large store -- is pretty much the same as Claude's own first venture as an entrepreneur.
