Hi,

My mum has just phoned me asking for me to look at her bill which is high. She pays £5/month for a Virgin SIM with calls and text, but no data. The are several entries of £2 for internet usage which she hasn't (deliberately) used. The usage is only around 5KB each time so I'm guessing it's something trying to update automatically.

She changed her phone to a Nokia 215 a month ago. I've tried to find a setting over the phone with her, but can't find it. Can anyone help on how to turn data off on this phone? She has no broadband so doesn't need WIFI access either.

Thanks.

Just done a search on the Net, and discovered its manual.

Tip: If you want to avoid data costs, switch mobile data off. Select Menu > Settings >
Connectivity > Mobile data, and switch Mobile data connection to Off.

Yeah, I also found this. I went through the Settings menu with her but she says there's no 'Connectivity' in there. Also found on Youtube a vid of someone pressing and holding '*' but this didn't work.

Edit: Sorry, misread what you wrote. Below is what I initially wrote, but it's moot, seeing that you said that she can't see "Connectivity".

I presume she hasn't got the dual sim version? If so:

Tip: If you want to avoid data costs, switch mobile data off. Select Menu > Settings >
Connectivity > Dual SIM, and switch Mobile data connection to Off.
