Just finished watching the ep & found it disappointing. I'm not bothered about Joe's being killed off as I didn't invest in the character. I did initially like his relationship with Mercy, but as I've mentioned I wouldn't have taken him back if I were Mercy & I don't believe he ever really loved her. Personally I'd cull most of the cast if I had the chance!!

Problem with the whole Joe and Mercedes thing is he only wanted her back once he found out what Joanne was like if that hadn't happened think I'd found it more sad..that and as exits go it was a bit daft

Didn't think Joe would be killed off, thought he would just leave the village and take the kids with him to start over some place new. Wonder if they put Freddie and Mercy back together.

There is a spoiler on the Freeview listing saying that Freddie faces new responsibilities. Of course it omitted to state that the reason was that Joe was about to be killed. Maybe it is just an interim measure, but we shall see.


Joe was seriously disloyal and distrusting, then unfaithful, to dump Mercy through Joanne's scheming and go back to Joanne for a while.


Her body was found and they told Warren at the Hospital, who told Sienna. She has also disappeared from the opening sequence of characters, although maybe it was a premonition that she had been just in front of a fire?


If I became your cat, I would forgive you for prioritising Hollyoaks over me but not for prioritising Emmerdale over me, Miaow!


Freddie may face the inevitable as Lexi's dad but is less duty bound to look after JJ, although he is JJ's uncle.

Wonder how long it will be before Cameron learns he's been recorded on tape setting the fire. If Sienna learns what Cameron done she'll want revenge on him.

Yes, it is a pity about Joe & Mercedes no longer having a future, but at least they did clear the air. That's the trouble when actors like Ayden decide to leave.

I consider Cameron & Joanne both guilty, as locking Joe & Mercedes at the top of the wheel left them trapped to be potential victims should disaster such as the fire strike. Maybe this is what will contribute to

Cameron does have a busy couple of months with a Christmas showdown of some kind due. Whether it is over this, or Lockie, or even both remains to be seen.

All that is odd is that we are promised a big storyline for Cameron, Leela & Tegan. What about Peri? As she knew Nico well, albeit something she regrets now, she does have the right to know that Cameron started the fire. Or maybe Leela will keep this a secret in another misguided attempt to protect Peri from hurtful news?

I am potentially relieved about Peri's survival, not just not being killed off, but potentially not going to Angela's now either. Leela had arranged this so that Peri & Steph were guaranteed safety away from Nico, but this will no longer be necessary. Furthermore, she is still in the opening credits, but would surely not be if she had left to move away to Angela's.

Maybe the video will find its way into someone's Christmas stocking.


It didn't seem as emotional, partly because we knew Joe would die, and also because Nico perishing in the fire was the end for a tragic character and of greater devastation to her mum Sienna than Joe's death will be for Mercedes.

Maybe she was just tired and forgot. Mind you, is was highly enlightening for us the viewers, as we now know Cameron was caught on camera. He is not very talented at keeping his behaviour off the camera. His "chat" with Leela about killing her parents was caught on camcorder on her wedding day and eventually used by Tom in evidence against him.


Unless, this is part of Cameron's big Christmas storyline?


Possibly Freddie? He has already killed Fraser, and could crack up after 2 of his brothers have been killed.

Joe basically dumped Mercy immediately & slept straight away with Joanne. I'm sorry but if you really loved someone you wouldn't jump straight into bed with another woman immediately. Joe didn't even look cut up about Mercy & was just acting like he was morally in the right which was a joke. I wouldn't have taken him back after that if he begged...

They said a body was found, the police didn't confirm it was Nico's. Another person could have been in the maze!!

How very dare you?? LOL Truthfully Emmerdale is stacks better than Hollyoaks. The recent pile up they had was great viewing. A stunt that actually lived up to the hype. Much better than fright week. Having said that the Hollyoaks points of view week was very good on the whole. I would have serious words with my cat if she preferred Hollyoaks....

Wish Joe had actually fallen on top of Freddie & killed him in today's ep, Hollyoaks missed a great opportunity there?

Maybe Sienna will contribute to Cameron's big Christmas showdown? Suppose Leela does not believe he started the fire but Sienna finds out before Leela. Leela would probably side with Cameron even at the expense of being friends with Sienna.

For now though, hopefully Leela having confidence in Sienna not being Patrick's killer will bring them closer again. Unless, there is tension because of how Nico treated Peri in her final week?

Normally cast culling would be hard to do, with Hollyoaks I wouldn't find it hard at all. I literally can't stand or don't care about most of the characters. BK has totally ruined the show... he may try & bring back old characters for stints & big names but the plots are paper thin & full of holes. Fed up with the bed hopping shallow residents & personality changes for the sake of a plot. Would prefer character driven stuff. The only storyline I'm interested in at the moment is the James/JP one & that's it!!

They've killed off 2 killers Nico and Lindsey with Cameron still here maybe he'll go to jail.

Wonder when they get back on with Ellie's dark story. This James and Mac story getting bigger when the truth gets out Mac abused Jame's it will hit the family hard. If I was in charge of cast culling I wouldn't want that job.

With Eva out to kill Jack she may as well play with his family first before killing Jack.

Yet Tom has almost had his entire family killed and is reasonably stable. Nico would have been more believable if the actress was better.

Leah definitely has future killer in her eyes. With a father like Ste it's no wonder. It's a shame they axed the storyline. THough it did sound awful.

Peri did start to doubt Nico during the POV week, but then somehow overcame her doubts before the last couple of weeks.


The wall falling onto the fire with Nico still in there represented the wall coming down on her reign of terror.

Talking of Grace, we have yet to see her reaction in the likely event that she finds out Trevor was murdered by Nico.

There is a thread on whether anyone felt sorry for Nico and, although I didn't, I commented on Nico's potential point of view when she uttered those immortal final words and how Sienna could feel as a result.

I did see the episode of the aftermath of the pile-up. I had read about what was happening to characters at the time who were involved. Although it was a plot device for James's exit storyline, the last I noticed, there had not been any other casualties.

This is so funny, its meant to be funny? lol I was hoping for and electrical shock for joe but that was so much funnier

I forgot Darren was Joes brother, hes lost a lot of brothers lately and yet still has Freddie poor poor guy
