I know people love a good argument on here but the whole thing goes a bit far when people are calling some of the contestants aggressive with no bases or trying to belittle someone due their parents or trying to insinuate someone is a slut just because you dont like them or someone like Anastacia used her battle with cancer as a sob story or as way out of the dance off, that is taking things a bit far. Its just a entertainment show

Got a kettle Think the worse one is posting on an appreciation thread and well taking a pop at one of the people who post on it.

I'm actually taking myself into this equation too, do you want to do the same?

Not really because I have not done anything like that. There is nothing wrong in comparing dancers in this and previous years and I will continue to do so.

But you agree with trying to make someones success in their career out to be down to being pictured with someone famous?

Laura is an ex MTV presenter and I'm a Celeb presenter I really don't know much else she has done. That's her claim to fame.

I think some people get too invested in elements of the programme.

It amazes me that so many feel it is their role in life to defend the slightest criticism of someone they like on the telly as if they were a member of their immediate family.
Quite often, the comments they make to someone who has criticised their favourite, are more offensive than the criticism made.

I like to think I've tried to be universally fair to eveyone this year whilst continuing to put my opinions across but if admitting that Judge Rinder's personality irritates the proverbial out of me is going against your policies then I'll hold my hands up now!!

And some FM's miss digs that were made a few months ago against another FM. I say defend yourself if you wish to, defend anything you find nasty or say nothing. It's not really about being invested it's more, for me, about fairness.

It is a discussion board mind and half the time dead as a dodo so good to have people with something to say.

I thought it was tame on here this year. I would say it was more a fan scuffle or a fan domestic over who gets control of the remote control than all out fan wars.

It's so much more than an argument with a few of the crazy ones - they've caused threads to be locked when flooding the discussion with their views, had all their posts removed and been given a temporary ban from DS in some cases.

Even that doesn't stop some of them - they've moved into Showbiz or Chatter and just posted their vitriol for their hated celebs in there !

Does that make you someone 'well known?'

I've deduced SCD forums operate entirely differently to elsewhere on DS.

People taking completely irrational dislike to a celeb for the weakest of reasons, and sometimes to fellow posters too, (He/She disagrees with me, therefore the enemy for ever and ever). There really are some incredible grudge bearers around, looking for the next person to take a dislike too.

I resent that.

I'm going to bookmark this thread and I'm going to come back next year to resurrect it in order to air that grievance once more.

I think it's fine to support celeb A.
It's ok if you don't "get" celeb B.

What I don't like is people thinking that if they criticise B, it will make others support A.
It doesn't.
It just gets up people's noses

exactly...

Ore is getting a lot of negative comments, most of these posters are really reaching to find something negative to post about him.
The more they try, the more votes I put his way each week.

It's what gets me up of a morning

Seems on odd year for fanwarz - all the celebs seem to be nice enough and taking it seriously, even the comedy turn/s are trying to actually dance. That's probably why we have to make to with zombie fanwarz for yesteryear

Absolutely.
Shall we do a poll on last year's fan wars v this year's?

Fanwarz don't really get going until last 6 or so

This type of poster seems to appear year on year. The only answer is to put in place the consequences the mods use (and even escalate them if necessary )

I comment on the dancing of contestants. Good or bad. And if that includes someone's favourite then so be it.
So if, for example, Ore has a bad dance, missteps, poor footwork, etc he is open for comment as are all the couples.

I have no problem when someone comments about his appearance on Strictly, but when some posters try to do a character assassination, question his profession & call him a liar for saying he had NO dancing experience at all, this is what really annoys me.
