Its unrealistic, but Mary is a great character who deserves a good storyline.

Ha. I've been watching Emmerdale my whole life and whilst she wasn't perfect, she did a decent job so I have more faith but happy to be proven wrong

I'm happy to be proven wrong but I'm cynical when it comes to her and characterisation

Well we did have the retcon of James being Adams father so I guess anything is possible!! I'm just hoping that if this storyline is true, there will be full acknowledgement of her past, she's clearly a pathological liar and compeltely unstable which really just ruins the current image of the character!

Mary should be left as a spinster with a vivid imagination and a gift for telling a good tale. She was harmless (if you conveniently forget the kidnapping Norris business)

Yeah I totally agree Craig.

I'm happy to disbelieve the mail until or if confirmed by corrie but I won't be surprised if it's true

I'll be bloody devastated if it's true!! It'll be time to reconsider my opinion of Oates if she's gone that far

She did it at Emmerdale too but I think because she got them the awards that was overlooked at times
Towards the end of her reign though Emmerdale for me was awful.

2013 to 15 was excellent.

Terrible plot driven rubbish. Why can't a soap have an unhappy unfulfilled woman in it?

Is this definitely true
