seriously i think after the shit that was this episode it makes a little bit of sense but i agree they would never do a twist like that which is a shame as would only just about make tonight worth it

Stuart Blackburn is probably pi**ed off he fell from grace.... Being the top dog at ED & Corrie then going back down to writer overnight........ ITV probably told him to stick to what he's good at..... but until a cleaner position becomes available they've got him back writing at ED....

What?!! I can't blame Rebecca for this, it's Robert's fault! Also, since when has this ever been about getting HF?! I felt like I was watching an episode from last year!

Thinking positively I guess there is a chance Robert is being really clever and playing Rebecca and also she screws him over in the end, serves him right!

I'm not jumping ship, I never would, but tonight is the first time I've ever had doubts about Robron. I never questioned anything about the lodge or the scrapyard rant, I understood what was happening in those scenes but I don't have a clue what Robert was thinking in tonight's episode!”

I think the big question coming out of this when everyone has calmed down is WHY did he kiss her back.

It's all for Andy... trust me

Hi :waves:

I've lurked a lot around here but this ep, (and the reaction to it, all over, not just here ) has made me want to actualfax post something.

Weirdly, I don't think I'm that upset about the kiss Halfway down a bottle of whisky and reminiscing with an ex about the good times would bring out Robert's moral, er, 'ambiguity'. I can see him getting into a kiss before stopping it

What will annoy me very much indeed is if he isn't honest with Aaron about what happened. He screwed up - quite spectacularly - but this should be a good test of how he handles that screwup, post engagement and with all his promises ready to proven. I'm already a little irritated that it is Bex who tells Aaron about it.

I'll wait it out (I have nerves of steel ) Not ready to give up on my boys. But they better have a top notch redemption arc/explanation for this nonsense.

You do realise he's only writing the synopsis he's been given.
If the scrip editor or story producer or producer was unhappy with what went to screen tonight - it would have been changed.

Why single out him alone for criticism

Andy I'm with you on this, you know how I feel on the whole thing.. but there has to be some explanation to the writing tonight it doesn't at all fit to what we've seen so far, I know the writer is new but ED have let that be aired for a reason I just didn't see Robert actually wanting her.. I also don't think he would have taken it further if they weren't in the back room, Robert isn't making a mistake either, he knows exactly what he's doing & I'm my eyes it's playing on the fact a woman he knows full well wants him, does he have the full intention of taking her to bed.. imo no.

Welcome newbies

Do ED twitter stopped to posts things

I am wondering how many hate tweets the yhad tonight.

Just a reminder to not mess with #robron fans. Hopefully they will learn their lesson.

I think there are spoilers we don't know about to explain Rebecca resort to blackmailing Robert later on when after today episode, she is even more convinced he want her.

It's just where it was as well......in Aaron's living room, on his sofa, them getting that cosy, kissing, saying all those things, touching...in his boyfriends house, as if it was fine and not even a thought. Just so inappropriate and offensive.

Hope so, I'm thinking it must be because nothing Robert did in that episode made any sense. It would only make sense if it was part of some big plan.

Someone on Twitter just had an interesting theory.... Maybe Aaron knows exactly what Robert was up to... Maybe that's why they semm ok in the episode after Aaron finds out... That would be an nteresting twist... Rebecca could come into the pub all smug and say "Aaron your fiance kissed me!" and then Aaron goes "Bitch, please... I know. And if you're stupid enough to believe that was genuine then I really do worry about you."

It isn't down to his individual bad writing, it's not his fault, this is the storyline, this is what was supposed to happen, this is what they wanted to show us. It's clutching at straws for anyone to write it off on the basis on who happened to write the episode.”

YEp, its the storyliners, the director for having him play it that way, and Ian for okaying it! What a fool!
Talk about throwing him to the wolves

Haha a life or over analysing every scene and movement robron makes until we can come up with the real story

This would be the ONLY scenario that could redeem Robert IMO....
