I'm not even remotely interested in this Finn storyline, nor the stuff with Ross... Pete & Adam are the only Barton brothers I find tolerable now.

I'm bored of Finn TBH. I just find him dull. He's alright in the comedy scenes he sometimes has with Victoria, but that's about it. He's one of those characters for me that I wouldn't even notice had gone if Joe Gill left the role.

The second Emmerdale was very sad tonight - John Middleton does such a wonderful job as Ashley.

On the Robron front, anyone else just looking forward to seeing Aaron wandering around wearing his engagement ring from tomorrow onwards? Even if the scenes aren't focused on him and Robert.

Evening all,

Just watched tonight's eps minus our Robron and have to say the scenes with evil Emma and Ashley were so distressing but I am pleased it was recorded and hope she gets done!!!

Looking forward to seeing Robron tomorrow it feels like forever since we've seen them!

I think we will get some great scenes from her as this will snowball after the funeral, then obviously there will be the reveal as Ashley left the camcorder running. Wonder who will find it first.
I can see drama at xmas for the Bartons.”

Yeah I agree.I think Gillian is great at playing Emma.I also see drama for the Bartons up ahead

I sort of agree with you. I know people love Finn and want him to have a boyfriend. I'm not convinced it would be interesting though.

I don't find Finn interesting either as a character

Good to see I'm not alone. He's the anti-Aaron I guess and people like him because of that.

I like Finn and would be happy for him to have a boyfriend although this one might be complicated but I suppose that's soap. I think he is a nice character and just hasn't much proper sls but that could change cos he might have more stuff with robron in the future

I just don't engage with him much.People talk a lot about him having a boyfriend which I guess would be nice but I would like to see him involved in a real gritty/dramatic or emotional story as I just find him a bit uninteresting in general-boyfriend or not

I am happy you like Finn. I know there are parts of Robrons story that are far fetched and people point that out all the time. If this story with Finn is what it seems its more far fetched than any of the Robert Aaron stuff. They seem to be trying very hard to give Finn his boyfriend.

I know what you mean. I guess for me its not enough that a character is gay and has a boyfriend. That's not interesting in and of itself in 2016. There would need to be a good story behind the love interest.

I always feel sorry for Joe Gill when it's the set of sponsor ads that have a set of females declaring saying how one of the cast is really fit. When the brother at the end asks, 'The one in glasses?' it's obvious he's referring to Finn and his sisters belt out a collective, 'Nooooo!!' Poor Joe.

Finn had an early interaction with Robert about comic books but hey pretty much haven't spoken to each other since. The thing with that, though, was Robert clearly had an interest in comic books as he genuinely understood and was able to respond to what Finn was talking about in terms of particular characters and their plots. I'd love to think that all his running about and diving into lakes, saving Aaron from the car and rescuing Andy from the upturned Jeep is him being inspired by the superheroes in the comic books he's read.

Have just been reminded of how good these AU Aaron/Robert ficcs are (even if you're not a fan of AU's I [almost] guarantee there'll be one you like)

http://archiveofourown.org/works/804...pters/18419077

and an alternative take on Robert/Aaron's recent absence, which I rather like:

and just because......why not???

little bit rude

and because you can NEVER have too much of the 'enchanted forest'

and on that rather wonderful note - good night

I didn't watch last nights episodes (danger of contracting Lisa-itis judging by the previous few nights) but I am guessing I missed one of the rare appearances of Finn?

I think Finn will never be a passionate man, but he probably feels very isolated, living in a village, being quite young, without the looks of Robert, or the spirit of Aaron, so he appears dull, but in truth, I think he presents an accurate reflection of somebody who accepts being gay, without feeling the need to shout about it from the rooftops. He is miles better than Ross, who would be a nightmare, if he really existed - though obviously that sort of Ross-type troublemaker/loudmouth does exist.

To be totally fair to Stuart Blackburn, he didn't do a bad job on Coronation Street and while Mr. Kirkwood is around, SB - or anybody else - will not be taking the title of the most inept producer.

They all produce turkeys, because of the amount of episodes they have to churn out but after the dire scripts produced on October 18th (Marlon/Paddy's Last Of The Summer Wine) October 19th (Emma and James Bride of Frankenstein meets Miss Havisham and Carry on Screaming) and the sheer tedium of this weeks Monday to Wednesday episodes, I would quite welcome him back

Slightly OT but I wonder what turned Dominic Treadmill-Collins from the Saviour of the BBC's Eastenders to somebody who seemed to leave overnight in the back of one of Walford's black cabs?. I'd genuinely like to know how you go overnight from being able to do no wrong to being unable to please the BBC

The irony of it is that they are a bunch of airheads and poor old bruv looks like he stepped into the broom cupboard and mum's mop fell on top of his head - mum doesn't realise that though, because she has just gone off to ruin another performance of the amateur dramatic club with her hammy performance.
