It seems that Emmerdale's Twitter account is trying to lift people's spirits. They have posted a Robron photo with this message: "Need an afternoon pick-me-up?".

That would be awesome!

But I am happy they had. They deserved it.

Like I wrote on twitter, there are other ways to show angst.

Funny to see the differing reactions to the pic on facebook and twitter. On Facebook, which is more a broad general audience, posters mostly positive and looking forward to Robron's wedding, happy that Robert pushed Rebecca away (ahem) While Twitter which is more where fandom people dwell is all "you have ruined them, how could you?"

I am starting to wonder if we are all over reacting

all pics better than none but of all the ones to pick they back to back neither smiling and aaron not looking happy.

agree with people who say ed properly didn't expect the reaction they got they monitor sm closely and I think got a bit of a shock

Does anyone else feel like Rebecca will be the big bad wolf & not so much Robert, once Aaron finds out? I can't shake off the feeling lol.

Well for me she is already a pathetic witchy witch vampire snake girl lol. Nothing new there.

It's like you said, Facebook is more general audience. People who like Robert and Aaron being together in the show but aren't actual 'fans', don't re-watch scenes or have Robron Tumblr blogs, read Robron fan fic or anything like that so they were always gonna see it differently and react to it differently to those who do. And most of the general audience have probably forgotten the things Robert said to Aaron during SSW already, we haven't.

And on Twitter, again like you said, there's a lot of fans unhappy about it, saying they've ruined Robron and of course they're gonna be mad cause they've invested in Robron for a long time, they remember all the promises Robert made to Aaron, they can't re-watch scenes in the same way anymore unlike the general audience who can brush it aside so easily and will soon forget about it anyway which isn't as easy for fans to do.

Anyone who's still angry about it have a right to be. I don't think anyone's upset over it (including those who have jumped ship) is over reacting.

Point is...if it was, in their eyes, played to get the kind of Facebook reaction....we aren't going to get a satisfactory resolution are we... I know I panic at the best of times bit I really feel like this just won't end well for those really upset/annoyed/in limbo about Robron now. Basically the fan base.

Personally I think people are overreacting. I think some people are focussing too much on this "kiss" (which somebody on Twitter said only lasted about 4-5 seconds!) and not on what's happened over the last 11 months. I feel as though some people are quick to judge Robert for this moment of madness where he just got swept away rather than give him credit for the way he's been since January. For me, one silly kiss doesn't undo all of his good work and I don't believe that they're ruined as a couple. If he had slept with her then they would have been ruined - but he didn't. If he had wanted Rebecca in that way since she's been back then he would've had her - she's offered herself to him on a plate enough times . I'd rather look at the bigger picture and hope that once Aaron's confronted him and he grovels and hopefully fesses up about the 4-5 second kiss then they can move on and so can we. I'm still a fan and always will be until they split up for good

I think the more general audience maybe do see Rebecca as being more at fault anyway as she keeps pursing him and he did push her away and turn her down, even if he hesitated for a second. It's more Robron fans who are angry with Robert. Most viewers are probably being a bit more rational about it than we are especially as they have seen much much worse examples of cheating on the show in recent times, so this is almost par for the course and not that big a thing to them.

This is kind of publicity for the show I agree, but it's not the kind of reactions I would have liked to receive if I was ED.

Thing is as well is that if there is no proper resolution, that makes me personally able to move past it...I might still ship them,follow them....I dint think I could stop if I wanted to...it's just any nice moments...and big movements in their lives...I feel like I'll remember this and not really truely invest like I did before.

I hope not. I don't like Rebecca but it wasn't all her, Robert's just as much to blame. Even more so actually cause he's the one who's engaged to someone else and it shouldn't matter how many times Rebecca desperately throws herself at him, he just shouldn't go there.

I've seen a comment from a fan saying 'Robert didn't cheat on Aaron cause he didn't kiss her', 'it was all Rebecca', 'his lips just lingered on hers' and if that's the way they want to look at it to help them get past it to continue supporting Robron, then fine. But that wasn't actually want happened in the scene. Robert did kiss her back, not lingering, actual kissing which is cheating. It's unfair to blame it all on Rebecca. I do want Aaron to have a go at Rebecca but I want him to be even more furious towards Robert.


That's how I feel too. It has changed things for me now. For a start SSW isn't as special anymore and they included so many of my fave Robron scenes. That's one of the things I hate about them doing this is that it's part of their story now, it's always gonna be there. Anyone who ever comes across their storyline in the future are gonna see Robert cheat on him. And we can try and forget it ever happened and move on but it still happened.

It still might not be what it seems though I get its kinda hard for some to see how it can work out but maybe we should have faith that ed have at least one brilliant writer who cares about robron as much as us and is clever enough to see this as we do and won't let us down
