It will be heartbreaking for sure.
Really looking forward to tonight's episode - it's going to be really emotional for sure Last night's episode was absolutely heartbreaking . Whilst I absolutely love Danny Miller and think he's worthy of all the awards he's won, I really hope John Middleton wins something next year because he thoroughly deserves - his portrayal of Ashley, and especially in last night's episode, has just been phenomenal

I would hardly say Robert is pushed out of the house thing. When it was his idea in the first place and he is throwing his money in on the renovations. Pushing out would be if he didn't know and Aaron was doing it behind his back.

Jackson blah I`m sure Danny will be great I just never liked Jackson or their relationship.

Yes, as i've said, he's quite clearly in the loop and on board with everything. I don't see the issue when it's not an issue on screen.

Plus, in that pub quiz ep, Aaron said "remind me again why we are moving in together?". Well they already are living together so clearly that was about them getting a home together, setting up house together.

Really looking forward to Laurel/Aaron tonight.Think I will find it extremely emotional.I love Danny and Charlotte and we never see them together so it will be a good scene/s.And given the heartbreaking nature of the story I'm sure it will be very well done again.I agree about John getting some awards for his portrayal as he has been amazing, and Charlotte too.Lovely again to see Danny complimenting John and Charlotte and also Maxine he is one of the ones who always praises his fellow cast members, and emmerdale as a whole and that is so nice to see

For all it's faults this year i do think the show has overall been fantastic. Aaron's abuse story, Robron getting back together all all that's happened with them, Holly's death, SSW, Ashleys dementia. It's had some really fantastic stories and moments.

Agree with you - when they do it properly, they do it amazingly well. I've got to be honest that the David cancer, and Kerry diabetes storylines have not been written so well - but maybe the Kerry one will be re-visited properly, particularly given that diabetes is such a big issue nowadays. It might be that I'm not so invested in the characters, but I ended up caring about Holly and really wasn't a fan initially.

Some of us did, and if it hadn't been for the earlier part of the story, Aaron wouldn't have been the man he is today.

I have 4 hours off today! - count ' em, 4

I have always been interested in why so many people disliked Jackson. I agree the assisted suicide story stank, but prior to the accident Jackson was kind, funny, considerate, and was able to show Aaron that not every gay man was a screaming queen (just imagine with his self-loathing of Aaron had met up with a "Sean Tully" type character, or a sadist like "Brendan" from Hollyoaks, or an egotistical muscle Marylike Eastenders "Christian Clarke". I think Jackson wasthe ideal partner for Aaron circa 2011.

Perhaps poor old Jackson was just not handsome enough?

That's probably part time for you, Andy. I hope you get some time off over Christmas. You deserve it with all the hours you do.

I liked Jackson and, as you say, he was the perfect first love for Aaron ... kind, caring and patient. However, I don't think Jackson/Aaron ever had the same chemistry that you now get with Robron, and maybe that is why some are dismissive of Jackson now

Both my assistants want extra hours (up to Friday!). We will be closed Xmas Day(Sunday), but the papers will be back on Monday, so I will be in the shop at 5 a.m. (and I don't suppose I will have at least one of my two assistants next week). I don't mind, though, as I am not a fan of Xmas.

By the way, I am glad I am not the only one who liked "fake Aaron":-

He is 18 months younger and two inches shorter than DM, but at least if he ever leaves we at least know the character could still say, which must be reassuring for Ryan:

Always a good idea to have a replacement though. I wouldn't want to lose the characters of Aaron or Robert.

I liked the other Aaron, his mannerisms were very accurate when you watch back. I'd be upset if Danny left but even more so if Ryan left. He's made quite an impact on me, love his multi-dimensional portrayal of Robert

When I was watching last night Ashley talking about his late mother I couldn't help but thinking about my mother when she escaped from hospital last year. The security caught her in the emergency parking lot and she was confused. She wanted to go home and when I saw her later that day she told me about my grandfather. It just hit home to me.

Now my mother just entered a caring center last month. She has Parkinson's disease but her memory is lacking and when the meds are not working she becomes so confused.

Anyway it hit home. It's difficult to watch this

Yes.I don't want Danny to leave, but if he did, my concern has always been that as "Robert" has so few friends in the village he would probably have to leave as well (whereas if Ryan left I am sure they wouldn't axe Aaron), but we can atleast see a way now where they have an actor who has proven he could do the job. "Fake Aaron" looked much more like the real thing than fake Laurel, Chas or Doug.

I was very sorry that because Les Dennis decided to leave Coronation Street, the character of Andy Carver" (Oliver Farnsworth) was got rid of, and in the most unlikely way as well (would-be murderer, theif and blackmail victim. That is OOC for Andy, but hey this is the crazy world of Kate Oates, the woman who is to logic what Bernard Manning was to ballet dancing

I think this a bit harsh....

We wouldn't even know the bank thing if it wasnt for the writer saying that on Twitter, it wasn't mentioned in the show and was simply a reason to have Aaron in town. It was an Ashley episode, not about Robron and their living situation or relationship.

Besides, its Aaron's money (or Livs) he's got to sort out for the house, so it doesn't seem that odd Robert wasn't there, does it?
I am on your page Andy, Robert wouldn't need to be with Aaron if Aaron was sorting his own money out, Robert I am sure could write a cheque or do a bank transfer if required. It was a perfect reason for Aaron to be in town and fitted beautifully with a very well crafted episode.

I think for me it was a combination of Aaron's self-loathing pre the accident and how bleak the relationship became soon after the accident. I don't think the audience were ever really given a chance to just enjoy the relationship on its merits before it just seemed to be wall to wall misery. Making Jackson paraplegic so soon into that relationship and then making their relationship so dour and depressing did make people forget how good Jackson was for Aaron initially. I was never a huge fan of the relationship, but Jackson was mostly likable before hand.

Wow last night's was done extremely well.. loved it. The Aaron part (not actually Aaron) but it was great & says alot about him. Looking forward to seeing him talk to Laurel tonight.

One thing I got abit lost on was,, why was Aaron at the church & in a suit?

I actually liked Jackson for all the reasons you mention, he made Aaron face up to being openly gay and also taught him how to love someone and love himself a little. I think the issue was the chemistry was not brilliant between them, Danny was much younger and less experienced as an actor and as we have said here before I don't think Marc Silcock fitted in that well but thats just gossip, I think even though Ed was introduced to allow Aaron to leave the chemistry there was better but not brilliant, he served his purpose. Now we have Dryan and they obviously get on well and want to present the Robron relationship as realistic and are prepared to work together to make it completely believable..
