I honestly don't think Robert is hurting Aaron deliberately.. he'd never do anything to hurt him. I think he genuinely see's Bex as a friend now & someone who's helped him out & so on, but fails to see any wrong in what it's doing to Aaron. In Roberts mind it's all about Aaron not trusting him rather than him seeing that his friendship with Bex under the circumstances just isn't appropriate where Aaron's concerned & naturally isn't doing his relationship any favours.. its a difficult one is this.
The idea of Robert having another drink with Rebecca,and not telling Aaron is just more unbelievable stuff.However,I like the sound of the drama and I'm looking forward to the boys sticking together once again,when it's important,and coming out of it stronger than ever they have survived so much so far,and they'll survive this latest drama.Plus I love them when they're all angry and fiery and then all calm and gentle afterwards.This is bound to bring out their passion in more ways than one and Danny and Ryan will be great and it's another chance to show off their brilliant chemistry

Of course he is torturing Aaron. He knows how Aaron will react so he chances it and lies. And Aaron reacts by being violent to an innocent third party and ends up being arrested.
Robert, who is supposed to know Aaron so well and cares so much about how the love of his life feels, would be aware of how Aaron would perhaps react and would not have chanced it, especially when other recent events are considered by him. But the storyline dictates otherwise. Fair enough, I can accept that but I'm not going to defend it because it is nonsense.

I think you are making an important point.
As I said earlier all these ridiculous plot twists and personality changes have little to do with Aaron's and Robert's relationship or with Rebecca or anything else like that. They are all there so that Aaron ends up in an emotionally dark place after hitting Kasim. This in turn will give Danny Miller the chance to do what he does best and deliver what the Emmerdale producer hopes will be more award winning performances.
Once that is done, the storyline/personalities will go back to the 'rinse and repeat' cycle of 'will they, won't they' until Danny Miller is required to do his magic again.

I see where your coming from & its very easy to view things that way because you are right in what your saying.. Aaron is been tortured emotionally but Robert just isn't deliberately causing that, although he shouldn't be lying to him, Robert isn't doing anything wrong by having a drink with Bex (I don't believe he should be so involved with her but that's another story) he's lying to him because he doesn't want Aaron to worry.. so he's not deliberately hurting him, he's just going about things the wrong way generally because he's not interested in Bex & that's the most innocent part for him, to Robert.. Aaron's been jealous for absolutely nothing.

He is telling lies to Aaron in order to deceive him so that he can do something that he knows will hurt Aaron. So yes, Robert is putting Rebecca first.
And what happens? Aaron does find out and is hurting and there is a row and so on and so forth. Why would Aaron react like that if he did not feel betrayed and hurt by Robert putting his interests with Rebecca before Aaron's interests and feelings.

Again your not wrong.. I agree he shouldn't be lying to him, I understand his reason for it but one lie an be very damaging especially to a insecure person, so he shouldn't lie to him & it will probably annoy me when Robert has ago at him after he finds out he lied.
I guess I just wish they could have done this story in a different way.Robert knows full well what all this will do to Aaron so it's just not believable for me.Not so long ago Robert wasn't happy with what Rebecca was doing at all and I don't believe for one minute that it's all of a sudden ok and that he wants to be friends with her and work with her

I am quite upset with myself for disagreeing with someone like you. But, that's how I feel and I'm quite furious at the damage the storyliners are doing for lazy reasons, especially the damage being done to Robert's character.

His lies about his Birthday were not to deceive or hurt him. So I dont agree with that. The only time he is lying to and hurting him is the one coming up in week 3. Because he hasnt lied other times at meeting up with her. So No I dont think he is putting her first at all. Again his dealings with Rebecca the last few times have been about Aaron so that is not putting her first.
