This whole storyline is to do with Aaron and his insecurities. I'm sure that if he told Robert exactly how he feels about Rebecca then Robert wouldn't spend so much time with her but Aaron was the one who encouraged Robert to do business with Rebecca after the two of them cleared the air. He wasn't even that bothered until Moira made that comment and then Liv and Chas aren't helping matters either.

People can't keep blaming Rebecca - Aaron's insecurities have always been there - they've just been brought to the surface, which is a good thing as hopefully he won't keep them bottled up.”

Good post

In the case of the NTA's, actually most of the voting will have already happened by the time Aaron/Danny get's the angsty stuff in week 3, so not really sure the theory that's all it's happening for holds much water. And i think John is pretty much nailed on for other awards this year so wouldn't think awards are behind any other potential plots for Aaron this year either.

And you know what, yes that whole R/R thing might happen at some point, but why moan about it now, before it's happened, before we know it's going to even ever happen?

I'd just try and enjoy Robron. That's coming from mr pessimistic himself!”

They also storyline and write 5 months ahead of time and wouldn't have known he was going to be on the shortlist. I mean they might have been able to make a good guess he would be but to plan weeks of screen time so far ahead on a guess seems ridiculous and unlikely.

As for Chrissie yesterday......what a good way to punish your son for shooting your father.....offer to buy him a Porsche No wonder he's so screwed up!”

I love how one day she is telling Diane her son scares her. and then weeks later tells him about the car she will get him once out of jail.

BIB1 - I'm a huge fan of Danny Miller's and always enjoy his performances and not just the angsty ones. He also has great comedy timing but that sort of thing is usually overlooked by Emmerdale for him.

What I have a problem with is lazy Emmerdale writers that invent ridiculous storylines SOLELY to create a situation where Danny will be required to deliver a dark and emotional performance.

I've been making that point for some time regarding the present stuff where the character of Robert is required to act in a repeatedly unbelievable and uncharacteristic way just so that Aaron can be upset. Why spoil all that Robron has achieved in a nonsensical way like this? (For the record, I also believe that the character of Aaron has been required to act in an unbelievable and uncharacteristic way, just a little less so.)

The Emmerdale writers need to be creative and I (and others here) have plenty of good ideas for storylines that could have realistically raised the issue of Aaron's emotionally insecurities in a fresh and creative manner that would have used and stretched Danny Miller's considerable talents in a considered and imaginative way.

As a long term fan of Emmerdale I do not see why I should just accept whatever the latest 'here today, gone tomorrow' producer decides to deliver to me. I will complain if I think it's not good enough. But that does not mean that I have stopped valuing the worth of the players.

BIB2 - Because it is obvious and because it backs up what I have just said.

Why was Chas smirking?”

Because Ross showed interest in attending Charity's party once he knew Rebecca said she was going. Chas thinks they could hook up & that will be the end of Aaron's worries about her.

I do think this storyline could have been better done if they really wanted to push Aaron's mental health issues regarding insecurity and self sabotage. Because with this current story, there seems to me a bit of a conflict in whether it's about that or making Aaron legitimately suspicious. They push the self sabotage and insecurity thing but then seem to constantly create scenarios where it actually does come across like something is going on or Robert is hiding something and you can't really blame Aaron for being upset about. So it confuses me a bit what the actual point of the plot is sometimes.

Far from it. They know which of their characters are popular with the viewers and therfore stand a good chance of making it. It's all carefully planned IMO. Of course they spread their bets on more than just one of their characters.

One thing they are showing is that he is generally fine till other people put it in his head.

It annoys me when Chrissie blames Robert for Lachlan but doesnt look in the mirror to see who is really the problem. She lets him get away with everything and coddles him with new cars etc. Pretty sure Robert didn't give Lachlan the gun or make him assault Alicia.

You see to me it's not obvious. I really don't see any chemistry between them at all.

Or make her set up his innocent brother for Lachlan crime, she also blamed Robert for her causing the helicopter crash/explosion.

Maybe Finn helps him eventually, but it does seem that initially Finn doesn't want to help & is angry at Aaron.
