I used to wear glasses like Monica's. They came in pink and mottled brown an' all. I had the brown ones. NHS retro chic (just nhs when I was young).

Eh? Pears as a main? Weird this lot...
Looks of main dishes of North African/Middle eastern origin have meat and fruit in a main course. Lamb tagine with apricots is wonderful. Also duck with cherry, orange or blackberry sauce

edit...just realised it is the veggie option

Me too, I adore it. Only seem to have it at Christmas and Easter though.

But I've started buying good quality lamb burgers so I can have it a bit more.

Oooh I do a mean lamb tagine And I adore duck with cherry sauce.. But pear..? That's a new one on me.

I think it's probably one of those gadgets you use once or twice and then gets put in a cupboard and forgotten.
I have quite a few gadgets like that
