Probably. He's an embarrassing fool (and convicted criminal).
What did he do?

Just imagine being the future students Gary will be teaching. Regardless of where he comes now he should quite rightly be regarded as a much sought after chef and lecturer.

City of Glasgow College should hang on to him with all their might!

What is really annoying is that if you notch it down 1 star you can actually eat fabulous 'proper' food.
I was sceptical when I went to Nathan Outlaws for a tasting menu. It was absolutely sublime and it changed my mind about 'stars'

This has just told me not to bother with spending money on 3 stars.

Here's an idea. Why not sit in the rosebed eating strawberry jam?
That's the logical step.

Is it me, did I miss it, or did they not do a single pudding at the Oslo restaurant?

Convicted as a football hooligan. Also ran at least two of his Ltd companies into the ground owing hundreds of thousands to suppliers. Not a pleasant person.

I had to eat roast lamb on an outsider with real butter there just to get back to enjoying food after that nonsense. Always the worse one of the series when the go to the arty farty place. The mad Italian still takes some beating though.

Am I the only one feeling like Gary's stock is really starting to rise?
You just need to turn down the heat then.

[quote=penelopesimpson;84938670]If anyone is looking for a reasonably priced meal in London, I had lunch yesterday at Pont de La Tour who have a £20 3-course lunch. The service was excellent, bread and good butter and included in the price and I had a great Ham Hock terrine followed by Steak and Frites. All this sitting in a restaurant looking out across the water to Tower Bridge. We had coffee outside on a great terrace and we were wrapped in fleecy cushions and throws against the cold. A great experience.

Later in the evening we walked all along Canary Wharf by the river and the array of street food was fabulous. Highly recommend.[/QUOTE

My favourite restaurant is Pont de la Tour.

Been there 4 times now.

I don't think I'll ever be able to afford much fine dining, but I there seems to be such a conceptual difference between 3 star and 2 star food

3 star seems to be "interesting" whereas 2 star (and 1) seems to be "stuff that I really want to eat"

I really don't know why I'm so annoyed, I just think that this is taking 'cooking' to an extreme that we neither need nor want. Of course that's just my opinion and I'm sure that all the mugs that are paying for this really do believe that they are eating food prepared with angel dust and pixie blood.....

I've not eaten 3 stars but a 2 star meal with a wine flight has cost me just over £400 in total. Was it worth it, no! But I'm glad that I've done it.

1 star dining at reasonable cost is easy to come by and well worth it. If you eat at lunchtime it can be very very reasonable, and fabulous food in decent portions!

I'd have to control myself from getting drunk and asking for a curry.
If you are an average sort of person earning wise like me, there is no way you could afford their drink and food. None of it appeals anyway - just so pretentious!

Well, the strawberries and cream thing was a dessert. I didn't see any spotted dick though.
