I would so like Gary to win. A bloke doing a tough teaching job, probably earning peanuts and leading an ordinary life, yet giving his all. Ellie is terrific, but she has time on her side

In the unlikely event that I found myself in a position to visit a Michelin star restaurant, I'd want to know if tweezered food was on offer, and decline!

I really hope that seeing Gary doing what he does will let people see how important culinary eduction really is. He teaches potential young chefs the basic skills that they will carry with them for the rest of their careers.

The celebrity/flash-in-the-pan chefs come and go but true talent and hard work will always endure.

I agree - these bios really do provide some background which helps you to understand the contestants a bit more.

Evening all .Missed it yesterday but hope Gary wins but have a funny feeling about Elly she might do it. Talented she is but a bit young to walk away with this. But age is just a number after all.

I'd love Gary to win, but Ellie's very accomplished too. How dreadfully sad that her mother walked out. Thank goodness she and her twin have a great father.

I'd be happy with either Gary or Elle for the win.

Just don't get tattoo'd Elle!
