You're in trouble if only Gregg likes it.
Apparently if Monica and Marcus can't agree on a contestant to go through, gregg gets the final choice!!

My Greens packet mix turns out better than these.
Good lord, can you still buy that?

Just to stretch a 30 minute show into 60 minutes.
I would rather have one episode with the twelve contestants split into two groups missing out the skills test as it doesn't count for anything. We could then have two episodes a week instead of two. Why have the decision made purely on the signature dish, surely skills are vital to how you cook a dish. It wasn't just the lack of skills shown but the lack of knowledge in some of the most basic recipes.

It's the same every year. Week after week they do all different tasks and skills tests. One person could stand out in every task until the final cook off but if the judges don't like their final meal they lose. So being the best in every round counts for nothing.

The cheesecake "skills" test was the most ridiculous by far.

It might well be possible to assemble that dish if you know exactly what you are going to do from the outset.

The contestants appear to get literally no thinking time whatsoever and have to hit the ground running.

The whole thing is just a shedload of "false jeopardy".

I'm actually quite glad that it doesn't seem to count for much although I would prefer that they kept the skills test but made it reasonable and fair.

Agreed. Especially when eagle eyed viewers on here spotted Marcus took 30 minutes to make the "cheesecake" not 15.

So being the best in every round counts for nothing.
This is what gets me about many of these competitions - there's no credit given for a back catalogue of great dishes.
MC Aus does have the immunity pin, but that's for being super-super-special.
IIRC, one show did refer to their previous dishes, but I can't remember when and which.

The skill test is the best part of the programme. I love it when someone who has bragged about all his (usually is a man) experience and knowledge then fails miserably on a very simple task that a young junior cook has just done perfectly.

It helps them get rid of their nerves and perhaps try even harder at the signature because they have messed up so badly. Most of the time it might not influence the choice of winner much but it will be in the back of their mind when selecting though I suspect if there were four all equal then they would just take all four through to the next stage and get the numbers back down later.

Yes you can still buy it. £1.49. It was delicious too. You even get the biscuit crumbs!

I read that as well, it's really bad form. Minimum Wage isn't a living wage anyway, especially when you are in London.

There's certainly been an overdose of Sitwell.
