If you did want to buy it you couldn't just walk into John Lewis and pick it up; a sales person has to come to your home to demonstrate it to you. Pretentious nonsense.
You mean you can't get one at Harrods I mean seriously who in their right mind would buy something like that for their home kitchen.

Shame she got it the wrong way round.

Celeriac puree in a blender. Wouldn't that be a soup?

Sounds ok to me making puree in a blender. I'm sure I had a blender with a puree option years ago.

Why would you not practice your dish? It could end up a complete dogs dinner even if you are trying to recreate what is in your head.

I always think they've never really cooked, or don't rate care or something. But I could have Luddite tendencies.

Why? It is an industry standard machine. Being shown how to use these things saves an awful lot of trips to A and E clutching your severed fingers in a clean tea towel (especially as some of this lot cannot even use a sharp knife). Sadly people simply do not understand how dangerous some kitchen equipment can be and I say this as someone who had to deal with all the accident reports coming from school kitchens. Tales of horror and a lot of blood!

I'm sure that a certain Michel Roux Jr formerly of this series had a big issue with number of gadgets some of the chefs use!

I think if I couldn't work out how to use it or it meant I could potentially lose a couple of digits I wouldn't even go near it. I won't even use a mandolin which the husband bought me a few years ago. It's still in it's box

I had a lot of Southern Comfort many years ago and still have to leave a room if I get a whiff of it!
