The Music app on iOS 10 is a pile of dog shit. Very bad comparison.

Yes, but USB-C will be the standard everyone goes for. Not Lightning.

It's inevitable the iPhone will eventually go USB-C but can you imagine the uproar if they had also dropped lightning this time round - "Apple always changing their connectors, just so they can sell more dongles blah blah".

It looks like TouchWiz and I have TouchWiz with Marshmallow 6.0.1 and believe me when I tell you mine looks nothing like that - it's all in a vertical LIST.

Well we've simply being picking out items where the fabled/urban myth intuitive iOS is not superior to Android given someone said how much better and intuitive iOS is.
The iOS Music app is far better to use (from a simplicity viewpoint) than any of the Android apps I've used/bought. Most are a hodgepodge of multiple pages and endless settings (or am I the only person that doesn't want to listen to ringtones in between songs). By the way, I'm one of the few users here that actually has the experience of using both iOS and Android on a daily basis... |

Translation service
Thought it might help innocent/casual readers (if any) of this thread if I explain a few commonly used phrases in the last 10 pages.
![]() Any statements by any poster about Apple/Android are verified and indisputable facts. Any statements by any other poster about Apple/Android which he dislikes are rumours, half truths or downright lies. Any slagging off by a poster is totally justified because he has been unfairly accused, insulted or subjected to totally unacceptable bullying. Any slagging off of him by another poster is criminal because his accuser is clearly stupid, mischievous or just downright unpleasant. |

So the opinion of one person suddenly makes that a verified and indisputable fact?

I am pretty sure most music apps (rather that plain media players) ignore certain folders and files below a certain size. I think that's been the case for goodness knows how many years!
Google Play Music, Spotify and others certainly don't and never have, unless you've actually imported ringtones into your music collection - perhaps as a result of migrating your iTunes music to Google, which I did on my Mac years ago. But if that was the case, I'd be blaming iTunes for managing ringtones! In fact, the way you manage ringtones on an iPhone (or did?) was crazy long winded. |

Yes I well remember trying to put a ringtone of my own on iPhone some years ago. I almost lost the will to live. Thank goodness iOS is so intuitive.

It obviously won't be like that today. No doubt you just side load a ringtone by drag & drop on Finder/Explorer, or Bluetooth/Wi-Fi Direct it over...

The problem you have with iphones is the lack of top spec which makes justification of their pricing harder. The crunch they often place on suppliers leads to varying quality within the same iphone model. There have been some issues with different screens and there are reports of the 7 producing huge memory speed variance depending on the capacity of the phone. If correct you shouldn't expect these differences on such expensive equipment.

Storage speed has always scaled with memory size, it's not something specific to the iPhone 7.

Not to the apparent speed differences being witnessed. Some evidence of older iphones actually being faster in his regard.

To get back to the original point of this thread, today I've been unboxing a phone that will retail for £240 and yet has a full-HD 5.5-inch display, 16-megapixel camera, 64GB of storage, dual SIM and a large 3,140mAh quick charging battery. It has an octo-core 1.8GHz CPU and 4GB of RAM.
What's more, on Black Friday, it will be selling for £184.99! I'm yet to set it up but once again, questions will have to be asked again about whether a similar spec phone is worth £700+ |

Oh, and the phone I'm looking at also has a microSD card slot too, so 64+256GB (and higher when bigger cards are released).

Can't say until Friday.
I really wanted to upgrade this Autumn, but LG have let us down by not releasing the V20 in the UK, Samsung screwed the new Note, the iPhone was a disappointment and the Pixel is just over priced at over £800 for any decent storage with no micro-sd and no middle storage tier. I'm stuck really wanting to buy, but with literally everything being disappointing this season. The only hope is that in Q1 2017 we'll see things that excite. |

Will it be able to do WifiCalling and VoLTE on UK networks (EE for example)?
There's something else coming too, which you will see tomorrow morning if you look at my site. Well, look anywhere to be honest. |

Doesn't look like it, and there's no NFC either. Not so surprised about VoLTE and WiFi calling, but NFC is a must.
