Virgin also do "unlimited" if you ask for it. Giffgaff as well

Yes Three offer unlimited mobile data in the U.K. (although Personal Hotspot is capped at up to 30GB dependent on plan).

Three also used to offer AYCE data on PAYG but ditched that a while ago.

Giffgaff certainly don't offer anything resembling unlimited data these days.

Usage over 6 GB per month is throttled to a maximum download speed of 0.25 Mbps (less in practice). In addition, heavy use will lead to a ban from buying the pack in future.

Giffgaff is a huge no no in my eyes unless your happy to have speeds throttled below 1/2Mbps! Completely outrageous how they get away with it.

Three still offer AYCE data on PAYG -
All in One 25/All-you-can-eat data/500 mins/3000 txts/£25

I know it makes it clear that your first 6gb of your "unlimited" allowance is at 4G speeds and that it also does then scale it back after that, but I wasn't aware they drop the speeds down that low.

Yes, they even state this on their website.

256kbps is pitiful.

Well that's put me right off

Looking to move away from Virgin for decent 4G and I was considering them - although, to be fair, my data usuage patterns probably would never exceed 6gb anyway so it still might be an option.

Ah. Didn't know that!

Assumed it'd been pulled as it's not mentioned here:

Stay well clear of NIFFNAFF the worst network out there it might say 3g and 4g but you are lucky to get 2g really slow unless you are right next door to the O2 mast you might be alright.

Only the cheaper of the 2 PAYG AYCE data packages they have ditched the AYCE data and cut it down to 12GB of data in the now All In One 20 (ex 15).

Check this Three page, still offering AYCE data, All in One 25 PAYG add-on.
