In the background of this video "Best shoe shine in Denver" -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikfT2igqYSQ

- there's a song playing during the 1st 30 seconds from the beginning of that video.

Do you know what the song is, please?

In this forum there have been a lot of requests for "what's the song playing in the background?" lately. Is there a reason for this? If I play that video at normal volume I can't even hear a song, not clearly enough to pick out a tune. Same with most of the other posts like this - the music is so quiet it's not possible to hear it properly. So why do people need to know what the song is?

Not being rude, I just find it strange.

If you've ever listened to a TV programme through your hi-fi system, with headphones on, you'll have noticed how much more there is going on off-camera .. traffic in the street, papers being shuffled in an office, wind in the trees, etc.

It could be the same with those who hear background music quite clearly on headphones but that you and I might not even register at normal living room listening levels. Just a thought.

Hello. I only asked because the song sounded catchy. I can hear it when I use headphones. (I haven't tried to hear the song without them.)

I don't think it is. The song (in the background) sounds catchier with someone (off-camera) maybe saying "pop star". Because it sounds catchy it's been repeated in my mind (earworm).

Hello. I know you weren't being rude. I don't think I can add anything after SepangBlue's explanation-al reply to your post.

Hi Ittaford ..

I see you're new to the forum, so welcome. Good of you to reply to each post, that's quite unusual on here!

Sorry you've not actually found the answer to your original question, but I hope you discover the source of your earworm before too long!

Hey, SepangBlue.

I've just learnt that I can only log into DS using the full browser box version of the log-in part of this site.

I haven't had an answer (yet) but it's okay, many times I've heard music and not learnt what their titles are.

Maybe I'll find out what the song is, hear it fully and think afterwards, 'I was wrong. I don't like it.' LOL

Earworms can be distressing for me. Likely that's because we live in a more tech environment and we're exposed to all kinds of noises, music, slogans, speech, etc.

You could try http://www.midomi.com/, it can identify songs by humming the tune, if you can find a decent tune behind all the noise!
