Is it his first? Someone said he had gone been writing for ED a while ago.

He did write for ED long before he was series producer.

One of the things he is good at

I always said when he was Corrie producer that his initial ideas came across as excellent but they somehow managed to lose everything between his head & our TV screens!!
As a script writer I could see him being very good!!

Might actually not be so bad

The Mad Hatter is back with a vengeance.

Hopefully he's recovered by now from being savaged by pitchfork-wielding Corrie fans.

He was part of the team at ED when Gavin Bylthe was in charge which was a good era of ED

The issue Corrie have had for a long while is the writers

I thought he had good ideas. Sometimes es the execution wasn't so good, because everything was really dragged out, but I' m sure he'll be good as a writer.

He shouldn't be able to do too much damage... Hopefully they won't use him much.

Some soaps reportedly have a group of core writers who go along to the story conferences and pitch ideas, if it's the same at Emmerdale then I hope he doesn't have that status.

I could tolerate a few eps a year, no other input.

He has written episodes of Ballykissangel, Crossroads, Casualty, The Bill and Doctors in the past: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0085646/

Honestly, I am not fan of his work. Hopefully he will have minimal involvement

That's a heck of a CV. Fair play to the guy.

The only thing missing from his resume is EastEnders. Maybe that's his next job.

I'd rather Kirkwood returned and that's saying something

Yeah, but can you imagine the amount of EE fans that'll be queuing up outside Elstree just to catch a glimpse of The Hat . If anything, the show will benefit from the increased tourism.

He is freelance so maybe you dont need to worry. Even if he wasn't ED was very good last time he was part of the writing and storylining team

We only have to worry if he gets promoted again.

Not to mention Educating Joey Essex - worst show ever. A reality show engineered to kill the collective brain cells of the United Kingdom.
