A wedding and nothing happend? No explosion, fire, a killer? Only a happy wedding? Wow.
It was a great episode. The best wedding in years.

Loads of characters, loads of emotion - Lee was brilliantly sad and Whitney being so happy is just going to cause greater heartache later. These are characters we can now care about which barely happened under DTC.

Are Lee's army mates new characters? they have been given a lot of focus for no real reason. The blonde one is kinda fit but Beanbag is a douche.
Agreed I would have Moose return but Beanbag can go

I really enjoy Whitney's association with the Carters and I love her and Lee together which makes me thrilled that her and Lee are married now and she is officially Whitney Carter but I wish Lee has been honest to her about his financial problems, his ongoing depression and pretending to go to work (not confirmed he lost his job but it's looking that way). Whitney is a strong and compassionate woman and she'll be outraged if Lee told her the truth before the wedding but I'm certain she would still marry him. My heart broke for Lee when he pretended to fall asleep but the sad reality is his depression is still ongoing and there's no cure and he is battling all sort of emotions. Danny Boy is playing a blinder in this story and I'm saddened he'll be departing the show soon. Shirley and Lady Di have a beautiful relationship but the Carters should know better that the churches don't normally accept pets inside the building. It was great to see Ryan back and kudos to him for causing a distraction to Lee's wedding speech. Shona looked stunning tonight and I hope they have major plans for her alter-ego when Lee exits the show.

Nice to see Kathy and Sharon behind the bar but I loved their snarky comments. I miss their friendship but I presume they will remain frenemies and Kathy has Sharon's number and is watching her like a hawk. I said this before and I'll say it again but it's joyous to see the resurrection of old-style Kathy and I'm pleased she is acting like Ben's mother and he needs to cut her a bit of slack. We, the audience, knows Phil loves Ben but he has a funny way of showing it but I'm pleased to get a break from him tonight. He ruins all characters associated with him and I wish they had the balls to kill off Phil but sadly can never see it happening

Mick's reaction to Linda's horrific singing was the highlight of tonight's episode

8/10

I agree. I thought it was a realistic wedding.

I like the way they did that. Lee was on the outside looking in and at no time did he feel part of it. You'd expect his face to light up at the sight of his bride but he felt nothing. He couldn't make a gushing speech because all he could think is that he doesn't deserve her and doesn't deserve happiness. He couldn't even touch her or make love to her. He was there but not there. It was really well done and illustrated how detached someone with depression can feel from the world and all 'normal' emotions.

On the lighter side I loved Shirley and Lady Di and the wedding cake stayed in one piece.😁 And didn't Stacey and Tiffany look lovely.

I assume Linda Henry was still on holiday when the registry office and Square exterior scenes of this episode were filmed.

The bin lorry scene seemed like the punchline of the World's longest joke build up.

As someone who has depression that was brilliantly done you have zero emotion and as for sex drive that so goes ,Danny has played this so well ,was sad to watch

I did wonder! Her bits were really funny. I hope SOC has a good plan for her (that doesn't involve Phil!)

Poor Whit, she always just misses out on the chance of happiness And poor Lee as well, he just looked so defeated the entire episode. I want him to stay and for them to make it through.

On a lighter note, did anyone else notice - Wham! , Dexy Midnight Runners and Bryan Adams? Did everyone walk through the Vic's doors and into 1985?

Was that Lees last episode, will he do a runner in the night ala Frank as mooted by other foum members. Just spotted W have Eastenders Greatest Exits on later and they only usually repeat this when someone leaves.

I know very loose connection but who knows

I disagree. It was a great example of character driven drama imo

Poor Whitney I just can't sympathise with Lee, to me he comes across as a self pitying moody manchild, I just don"t believe in his depression sl.

Jay and Ben, I love their emotional scenes.

He is suffering from depression, possibly PTSD from his army days. He was put on medication some time ago and did seem to improve for a while but he is going downhill.

mmmmmm, he's so sexy in that vest and boxers. You guys are probably fed up of me drooling
You join a long list Sorcha, Elly, Krusty, Foxy and Keyser pure filth, it's weird I like them all

They do This on his wedding day and not on his stag?
I thought that was weird too, Lola

At least they are trying to excuse Bianca's absence. Its been a good touch getting Tiff and Morgan back in.
I wouldn't go that far Foxy

Lovely scene between Johnny and Lee.
I agree
That scene was so much better. Why do they write Johnny so bloody inconsistently?
Because they are determined to put us through the wringer? He's fine when the script is good

I'd rather they both stayed, think they've been a bit hasty with some of the axings.
Halle(bloody)lujah!! Somebody actually agrees with me on this

Sometimes Lee and Johnny look at each other like they're slightly in love and it really confuses me.
I don't see it like that, I just think that family has always been mega close and shows the connection between the actors, I think it's a good thing

Shirley and Lady Di!
Who's the boss in that partnership?

'This soppy stuff gives me indigestion' - Shirley would fit in well on DS
She would wipe the floor with the lot of us

She is

Enough is enough kill off Sylvie.
I like Sylvie, particularly when she messes with Babe's head

Jay stealing I thought he had a job with Billy.
The dealer is leaning on him for more money "interest"

#FireSoC sorry but this is poor
I wouldn't go that far... yet

Someone should start a fight.

No wedding reception is complete without a punch up.
This is SOC not DTC

Ben sure loves to shout
It's what he is directed to do

Wow. Whitney looked amazing in her wedding dress!

The Butcher and Ryan mafia confronting Lee about treating Whit right was great.

Bin Collection on the wedding day.

Ohhh, Ben and Denise scene. She'll be bringing ya a new sibling soon...

Awww. Tamwar and Nancy sending their congrats via email was another nice moment.

Whit and Lee's first [and last] dance...

Poor Johnny. Being embarrassed by Drunken Ben and co.

Ben and Jay

Lee. No. What are you doing man?! She LOVES you. Show her!

I haven't been enjoying the show too much lately in general (Bingate, Kim's driving test etc, etc), and I was worried about a sentimental wedding episode. However, Danny Boy Hatchard was brilliant tonight...and has been great over the last few weeks. Lee was quite a dull character for a long time, and his depression storyline didn't seem to be going anywhere. This episode really conveyed the hideous reality of depression (I have suffered from it) and how debilitating it can be. It's actually a shame that Lee is leaving as he has become a much more complex, interesting character lately who really brings something to the show.
