The Two Mikes on TalkSport
This is the only show on TalkSport which I simply CAN'T STAND.
![]() A lot of the shows get on my nerves a little, but this one at 1am in the mornings is just the worst I've ever come across. Does anyone else here ever listen to it and if so what do you think? |

I absolutely love the show but don't listen much because I'm asleep. There was a nice spell recently where they were doing a lot of daytime cover work on TalkRadio, which was great. I wish they were permanently on TalkRadio daytimes, with the 1am show being a repeat of that.

I'm not a big sports fan so skip through the podcast in the defined sections when they talk to the sports experts but will listen if it's just The Two Mikes chatting. I do normally listen to The Warm Up or any Sunday afternoon show live though. I can understand why they are marmite though. Porky is a ridiculous character though but I’ve always found that quite entertaining and like Old MG’s reaction is entertaining too. Have you seen the time by the way? (Don't worry about the time) |

I don't listen to them live or on demand all that often these days, but when I catch them I find them amusing and they always provide Hawksbee & Jacobs with good Clips of the Week fodder (this week's clip about Mike Parry's fish finger pyramid tickled me).
I think it was a good move by talkSPORT to give them a regular daytime slot in the form of Saturday's Warm Up. I dare say their appearance fees come in a fair bit cheaper than the TV comedians they succeeded, Jon Richardson and Matt Forde, but I expect they have a much bigger following among talkSPORT's regular listenership. |

I would like to add to the call to put these two on daytime on Talk RADIO, I find they are fairly amusing and I thought the Marmite comment was spot on. Not one for listen again hence not often able to listen at that time of the day

Leave on overnight where they don't have to tone it down like they have had to do when on during the day.

Parry is by far the most stupid broadcaster I have EVER had the misfortune to hear on the radio. I understand fully Talk Sport has presenters in there to provoke and get punters ringing in etc but the stupid and ridiculous crap Parry comes out with makes it beyond belief to even take an alternative viewpoint.
One example- he suggested a cricket pitch should be lengthened to 30 yards to make things easier for batsmen. How could ANYONE take that seriously complete and utter buffoon |

Proper lads.
old school "banter" (or what the youngsters think is banter today). If you are below a certain age you probably won't get them, but they are brilliant. Two middle aged men just discussing a variety of things like mates too, brilliant debates and ideas. Solving the Words problems. How long before some of the PC young crowd try to get them shut down? because of some of the Risque things they discuss, like hookers, strippers etc. |

How could ANYONE take that seriously complete and utter buffoon His career was on its arse a few years ago and he was reduced to putting out youtube videos. He got back into tS bit by bit and has now got this act going with Graham that's the flavour of the month. Good luck to them |

But that's the act though. Les Dawson used to be able to play the piano deliberately badly, which is a difficult thing to do for a properly trained pianist. I see Parry's act as the broadcasting equivalent.

The Two Mikes are very much a welcome antidote to all the totally bland and '' oh so nice to each other radio '' listeners have to put with these days , particularly from the BBC.
The fact that someone actually takes seriously Parry for suggested lengthening cricket pitches to 30 yards, obviously is not familiar with the wind ups ,humour and interaction between these two that they thrive on. Look into the light...... |

So have The Two Mikes replaced that childish Matt Forde permanently on The Warm Up? They're certainly much better than he is, and after H & J they're my favourite presenters on talkSport.

MANY of the subject matter Parry "appears to have a view on" are so bloody stupid you cannot possibly take him seriously
I don't think I'd like to find myself sat next to you in a pub. |

You tell us... You're the one doing it.
Yet you are. Your level of intelligence has nothing what so ever to do with 'getting' Mike Parry's shtick. I'm sure there must have been at least one person in the 70s with an IQ above 150 who simply failed to understand the appeal of Tommy Cooper because he was an appalling magician whose so-called 'tricks' often visibly failed live on air causing him to be openly laughed at by the audience. Yet still TV shows invited him back! I don't think I'd like to find myself sat next to you in a pub. As for being next to me in a pub don't flatter yourself mate. You and the other guy are obviously failing to get my point about Parry so I wont bother continuing it as its obvious we don't agree on his "broadcasting skills" cheers |

Tommy Cooper was an excellent magician who was a member of the magic circle so that rather nullifies your point
Thus, I don't think the application of your intelligence (which you mentioned) lives up to your own boast. Just move along and listen to something else. You don't 'get' Mike Parry's shtick, and what you perceive him to be isn't pleasing to you as a listener. To continue listening and obsessing over the man is likely to result in you being case-studied in one of Mike Parry's medical journals. |

Two Mikes is the best show ever. Amazing. Funny. occasionally serious.
Some folk are being wooshed by the fact Parry is playing up to a character. Mike Graham's laugh is brilliant. |

I'm a big fan of The Two Mikes, however i enjoyed their shows on talkRADIO more. I enjoyed it when they could talk about news subjects more and Parry's odd lifestyle without having to then quickly switch back to sport to keep bosses happy.

I'm quite aware of that, but you're failing to grasp my point, just as you fail to understand Parry. My point wasn't about Cooper so it isn't nullified. You additionally misunderstood my point about you in a pub - I wouldn't like to be sat next to you because you seem like a square. This means I'm doing the opposite of flattering.
Thus, I don't think the application of your intelligence (which you mentioned) lives up to your own boast. Just move along and listen to something else.
