The candidates, the tasks, Karen with her bitter anecdotes.

I think for me this series is the least favourite series so far.

Yep, totally agree. In fact I am only watching you're fired at this point as the main series is so awlful
Although as soon as I saw Jenny Eclair on last night I almost switched it off

I can't get into this series at all, I don't know if it's the candidates ( too many and dull ) or the tasks which are lacking any real excitement or sense of fun / entertainment or both probably. Usually by this stage I know everyone's names and who I like, but this series I still don't know most of their names and no one is making me root for them. There's a general feeling of painting by numbers this series ... it's as if everyone turns up, does their job and goes home and they think that's enough. Sadly this series has a tired feel to it which is a shame.

Fully agree. The best that's there are simply mediocre compared to previous seasons. I yearn for the days of beautiful and supremely talented ladies such as the incomparable Liz Locke.

I reckon the show has run its course...it's just too predictable.
That apart, the candidates get worse each year...they are all of a type, not short on ambition, just brains!

The Apprentice has ran out of ideas. There are only so many times you can pull off a show like this and make it work.

The fact that the candidates are now chosen because they're so deluded and up their own backsides is testament to how badly this show has collapsed.

The show should've finished when Nick left. It's been a completely different show ever since, and not for any good reasons either.

A few series back I'm quite sure that Lord Sugar announced that it would be his very last series. Then I think Nick announced he was leaving and LS appeared to then change his mind. I haven't heard any further mention of him leaving.

Finally watched last nights programme in it's entirely. I did watch it last night but it was so boring I dozed off!

Very much going through the motions this year by watching, but none of the "candidates" are likeable in any sense. In case of conflict and taking wrong decisions, they're dammed if they speak up, dammed if they don't.

Ultimately if I had a good business idea I certainly wouldn't want/need to apply to an entertainment show like this.

I have to admit, I haven't watched this series, although that's more because I don't really have time ATM. Same with the last series. I probably won't both looking either up on iPlayer.

I used to enjoy The Apprentice, but for the past couple of series, it seems to have been only about how they can make they can make the other contestants fail rather than a true test of their abilities.

Plus, for a long time, I've wondered how many of the contestants actually function day to day, as they seem to have trouble with coherent thought.

They weren't much cop on GBBO either. The task last night was rushed through and came across badly on the TV. Whole thing seems tired and played out. But I still laugh at 'Gillet' !

I never saw the Trump US version as I can't bear looking at that man, but I wonder if it was any better?

The last series of the Apprentice I enjoyed was Series 9. Its collapse has been so dramatic and so total since then.

Tasks are now regularly won by the team which is the least inferior, and the show has transformed into a parody of itself.

I just can't believe how low the show has sunk. I know they've always had arrogant idiots in there to cause drama but amongst them there was usually a few normal, decent candidates. Not anymore. The last few series have been full of deluded w*nkers.

I've watched a few USA versions and the show is slicker smarter than the UK version also the candidates were far more professional.

I'm actually wishing Richard, Vana, Joseph and Charlene were back!

Last night's episode was terrible. Both teams were terrible. JD just sat back and did nothing, Samuel was deluded, Rebecca can't do a simple video on an iPad, Sofiane just won't listen, Paul is moody.

I do like Fran though, she's front runner for me.

Only the first season of the USA season was good (and even then you had the likes of Omarosa and pottymouth Heidi and mental Kirsty). After that you had a mad bedazzler woman, a candy stripper and a woman who actually flirten with Trump in the boardroom (and got fired for it!). Oh, and a guy who waived is immunity and got promptly fired.

Trust me, as someone who does not have English as a first language (non-biased), the British version is miles better.

Yes, this series is somewhat dull at the moment, but I suspect that quite a few of you (amongst them the OP) have never seen series 4.

I think the show needs to take a new angle. Just jig the format about a bit.

Instead of saying 'you're fired' each week, give them a chance to come back on the show. And I don't mean just in the final to help the finalists.

Lord Sugar doesn't have any 'rights' to the series, does he?

To me, the way to save it is to have a new boss- someone like Peter Jones, or Theo Paphitis (hopefully not Branson)

We always know how Sugar is going to react in any situation- so it's getting old hat.

And what Sugar looks for in an Apprentice might not be what someone else would look for. If the contestants don't know by now what Sugar does, and doesn't like, they never will.

Someone new- and strong enough to tell the producers 'I want 18 genuine candidates, not 18 bulls****ers' or I'm not doing it, might give it the new life it needs.

There aren't that many Luisas in Britain - loudmouth but actually capable. I think after series 9 the producers wanted to cast more Luisa-esque contestants and it backfired badly.

Yeah this series is actually dire when you step back and compare it with the others, even the dull Series 8 and 9 weren't as bad as this.

I feel like the show is starting to really show it's age now, they need to do something to shake up the formula considerably, or at least get candidates that are competent.

It all feels like stuff we've seen before, only this time not nearly as interesting or as well done.

We have Frances and Grainne as our potential frontrunners this year but so far neither of them have actually done anything that'd have been of note in previous seasons.
