Emmerdale Scriptwriters
Ive just watched the latest episode, i am more disgusted than ive ever been before. Is there no where the writers will not venture into. Emma killing her partner is bad enough and i thought cameron was pure evil, This storyline has to be the most sick depraved story ever to be aired on british TV in any Soap. Who thought to treat a man with dementia in this way was the way to go with this storyline needs to have there own mental capacity looked at..... to think this they have to be ill themselves.
Watching her be so manuliative and the purest form of evil was too distressing We all thought chrissie was sick, however EMMA HAS TO BE THE MOST PSYCO EVER ... I have made a decision after 28 years of watching Emmerdale if this storyline does not come to the right conclusion rapidly, i will not be watching again !!! why do the scriptwriters feel they need to have a evil storyline every year??? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I thought they were both brilliant in the scene, if it distresses you though probably best to avoid the soaps. Some of the best soap characters have been pure evil and emma is up there among the best. It helps she looks so sweet and innocent when she relaxes, the evil emma is such a surprise.

Really?
It's meant to be upsetting. It shows how vulnerable Ashley is, so it's painful to watch. It's not like they are trying to show what Emma is doing is good. It's clear that she's crossed lines into psychopathic behaviour and needs to be stopped. So yes, it's upsetting, but it's not something that shouldn't be shown, in my book. |

I'm afraid I couldn't disagree with the OP more!! Emma is a psycho, she will stop at nothing to conceal her guilt and I thought that the scenes were incredible. John Middleton played an absolute blinder and Emma's approach to dealing with Ashley was very original. No threats, no aggression, no blind denial, she used his illness to her advantage and whilst it is certainly incredibly cruel it shows how manipulative and actually how intelligent she is! Complete psycho and I absolutely LOVE Emma, she's deplorable but she's fascinating.

I am more concerned with the Kerri storyline - the way she gets drunk and sleeps around is sending out nice messages to the youngsters - now where is that bottle of vodka lol - but seriously

![]() ![]() It's not just kerry that does that in all fairness. I assume you feel the same about the male characters who do the same As for the original post this was obviously meant to be distressing and horrible to watch. It would be a different matter were they condoning Emma's actions but there was no doubt people were meant to be horrified at this. |

And by the way I have a family member with this dreadful disease and I thought it they were well played, thought provoking scenes, yes hard to watch, but I for one am glad Emmie had the balls to show what this dreadful diease can do to people and their families. |

I thought it was very uncomfortable to watch but a very interesting and original development plot wise. I did not expect what she was about to do.
The actors were phenomenal in the scenes and since it's all been caught on camera it won't be long until Emma is caught. Emma is not a good person but she's a good character. And for the record, we didn't all think Chrissie was sick. She only framed Andy for attempted murder. There's others who have done much worse - like Andy himself. |

I think its a very clever storyline, its good when soaps push the boundaries. Emma is a great villain, what she did last night was evil, but it was superbly written and acted.

Your reaction is exactly why that scene was so brilliant. It's one of the darkest, unsettling, cruel and best acted, written, directed scenes I've seen in soap.

Its amazing the way Emmie has managed to turn itself around over these last years. Yes they do still delve into "Carry on Comedy" a bit too often but a few years ago it was Eastenders that applauded for their hard hitting stories, but it unfortunately along with Corrie has become a shadow of their former selves |

It shows perfectly how manipulative and masterful Emma is as a villain. There were no gimmicks, no violence or even a hint of a threat. She knew exactly how to muddle Ashley's memories and get him on side. It really was a master stroke. Jaw droppingly cruel, but a fantastic twist!

Yes, that's exactly it - it was cruel. We don't very often get to see real cruelty on soap, and I wouldn't want to, but it really packed a punch. I was begging for Doug or Laurel to come home.
I never want to read an Eastenders fan say no other soap can do drama and hard hitting like Eastenders. They should watch that scene. John Middleton was great but I can't stress enough how much of a gift Gillian Kearney has been to the show. I'm dreading the day she leaves |

Yes I really can't recall being more uncomfortable and feeling more pity than I did for Ashley in any other scene. It's really unique including the directing. I just wanted it to stop like Ashley but was still gripped and impressed.

I found it very uncomfortable to watch and almost turned off, between Emma and the awful Kerry deliberately upsetting him a couple of weeks ago I am sure they have managed to set Ashley back with their wicked evil ways.
I never want to see a scene like that again, the amount of abuse was unbearable. |

I find it strange that people feel compelled to switch off when there is nastiness or psychological manipulation occuring. Do you also feel the same when Ross is smacking someone over the head with a baseball bat or someone else is getting shot? i'd rather be unnerved by someone's head games that watch outright violence to be honest.
