My point is, in real life, people do bad things and cover their tracks well enough to not get caught out and I think the same should apply in soaps if they are trying to mimic real life. Carl King murdered his father yet remained in the village for years and was STILL a popular character. He is the kind of example I was referring to. FGS

Emmerdale do let characters away with more than other soaps. Look at Debbie, Cain, Zak, Ross and Robert. How many murders and attempted murders between them? And all still running around the village.

Exaclty! What is good for the goose is good for the gander IMO. If Ross can get away with all the crap he's been inflicting on folk, I don't see why we can't apply the same logic to the fantastic Emma. I don't want her caught straight away, she's a great character who I'd prefer to see stick around and cause more damage!

I think he will kill her, probably in self defence. Ross is the only one who seems bothered about finding out what happened, so it seems likely that he will be the one to work it out. I can see Moses being brought into this as well, maybe Emma tries to run away with him?

I agree, but I don't think it'll be long until Emma gets caught out.
After what she did to Ashley, she won't be hanging around too much longer I wouldn't expect.
I'd like for Emma to be sent to a mental unti for a few months/years, then the door is open for a return. The character still has mileage but she needs some kind of comeuppance to give the viewers closure.

I wouldn't mind this outcome actually as shes a great character, who isn't boring to watch.
I'm really surprised that so many people want Emma to be discovered and face punishment so swiftly. I understand that she's deplorable but she is a great character played by a fantastic actress, and IMO she has a LOT of mileage left in her.
I'd happily see Emma on screen for a long time, secretly plotting against the villagers until finally going absolutely bat shit mental holding a few hostage and killing off a bit more deadwood before finally admitting all as she's carted off to the mental institute!!

I agree that she has to go as soon as possible, I cannot stand her simpering little character, now she has killed her husband she has to be caught and hopefully killed off by one of her own children.

Which child should kill her and then then go to prison then? Which of them would you prefer to lose? By your logic, if they kill her, they must face justice by being killed off or going to prison.

I explained earlier that I'd like to see more characters like Carl King who share their crime with the viewer but no one else. We all knew Carl killed his Dad but no one else did for quite some time and even then they covered for him.
I'd have quite liked for Emma to have really built a strong relationship and built trust with the boys, the impact of the reveal would have been even more dramatic at that point. Right now, they still don't really trust her and Emma is a master manipulator she could have them wrapped round her little finger and believing all sorts before her heinous crimes are actually revealed
It seems only women get their comeuppance on Emmerdale. Men get away with loads of things. Robert killed Katie yet he's never been punished for it. Ross tried to kill Robert and he's never been punished either. Pete nearly killed Ross and hid his body but that's been completely forgotten about now. Not to mention all the things Cain has done. Yet women like Steph had a life sentence for something she didn't do. Alisha went to prison for hitting someone. Charity went to prison for a year but Declan did a runner so got away with it. Just seems like Double standards. That's why I want Emma to get away with it. She's no worse than the others I've listed.

Lousy actress??? Are you deaf and blind?! I've seen a lot of criticism for Emma but literally seen none regarding Gillian Kearneys acting! She's fantastic and even if her style doesn't really work for you, calling her a lousy actress isn't just inaccurate it's down right ridiculous

I love Emma and don't see at all why she shouldn't get away with murder like countless others already have in Emmerdale.

Preferably Ross (if he's still there) as she tried to kill him but was incompetent as usual.
I can't stand her either. She's not convincing.
