EE: Why Can't Whitney Ever Be Happy? Poor Girl..
FusionFury

She's been through the mill more times than most, it is time the producers make Whit happy.. atleast for longer than 5 minutes.

It is like Jay, just keep kicking him.. time for Fitney to get her happiness too !

Maybe Jay and Whitney could get together once Lee leaves? #Jitney

Think Jay is too quiet for her, even more than Lee.

Probably for the same reasons Shirley, Sharon, Ronnie, Roxy etc can never be happy.

Because she depends on other people to make her happy, she doesn't want to get the things to make her happy herself.

Perhaps if she tried washing her hair and giving herself a good scrub all over, she might start feeling happier within herself.
I don't understand why they have to make the character of Whitney so grubby and cheap looking.

She'll have her happy ending in the end

Exactly. She's self-destructive.

Because it would be boring = no more Fitney.

Because she lives in Albert Square.

And stop dressing so chavy. That wedding dress was hideous cheap nylon and fake zircons

What's her appearance got to do with Whitney being happy?

Shona in my opinion is now the leading actress of her age group. She is honestly so much better than Jac Jossa and I also think Whitney is far more relatable than Lauren is. SOC pushing her right to the front of the show has been a wise move.

Long, long overdue.

I think Whitney is forever doomed to be a tragic heroine and she can't find true happiness for more than 5 minutes. I wish she didn't have a miscarriage because she would have been a great mother, however, it's also important to raise awareness about the sad realities of miscarriage and Shona has been sensational recently.

I love Lee and Whitney together and I'm still pondering why O'Connor decided to get rid of Lee because they are a natural couple and Danny Boy/Shona have great chemistry. I hope Whitney will not become an isolated character when she and Lee inevitably call time on their marriage. I wonder where Whitney will live when Lee leaves? The Fowler house? I hope so because I'm enjoying her budding friendship with Stacey and she'll want to be there for Whitney when she is inevitably heartbroken when the full truth is out.

Not really. Whitney has been given the abuse storyline and the prostitution storyline. She's been at the forefront of 2 of the most highly praised storylines within the last decade so hardly long overdue.

Characters like lola and the likes were far more neglected imo

Whitney is a Carter now and should take her rightful place in the Vic. She can step up while Linda is away.

If she and Lee split up, I don't think Whitney would be happy living with her in-laws. Mick has Shirley to help him and I think she deserves it more than Whitney.

Because she is part of the family. That doesn't exclude Shirley. One is the daughter in law and the other is the mother. With Nancy, Babe and Lee gone there is room for both of them. When Jim died Dot didn't stop being part of the Branning family. If Phil dies Sharon will not stop being a Mitchell.

A lot of people say when you dress and look good, you feel good

She's a chav and they made her gothy/emo-ish.

I don't think she's like that in real life though.

Ah, you meant Lee's potential suicide? Personally, I hope it doesn't happen because it would send a negative message to those who has depression but I feel strongly about it because I lost a close colleague of mine from suicide a few years ago so it's one of the biggest reasons why I want Lee to exit the show alive. I think they should keep Whitney and Lee together but Lee leaves Walford to get help or he needs some time alone. We know there is no cure for depression, as it's treatable not curable but if Lee wants to deal with it alone, they should respect his wishes. Whitney loves the bones of him and I'd hate to see them split them up when she inevitably finds out about his piling debts and the possibility that he's been pretending to go to work.

However, I love Whitney's association with the Carters and Mick/Linda get on well with her and she is like a daughter to them, but I wish she didn't get a miscarriage. But it's great she is married to Lee and I agree with you, she's now officially a Carter. If they split up Lee and Whitney, it wouldn't be natural for one to live with their in-laws after breaking up with their partner, however, she has formed a close relationship with all of the Carters so they could want her living with them. Whitney as temporary landlady sounds ideal but I'd want to see Shirley and Mick together more because it feels like she is a glorified extra and she doesn't get enough airtime.

Agree about Dot's association with the Brannings because they consider her family especially Jack and Abi but I wish they would spend more time with her but it may be difficult if they have full-time jobs and have lives of their own.

I wasn't thinking suicide James, more him disappearing. We know this isn't a temporary exit so Whitney may have to live without him for a long time. As you say she is family now and when Linda goes Mick, Shirley, Whitney and Johnny are going to need to pull together.
