Getting a bit tired of him being so angry all the time, it feels like every scene he's close to losing it every time, always ends up shouting or getting angry, i don't know if its just the actor if Ben is supposed to be like that. He never just chills out as i say its like he's constantly holding back anger.

He had some nice, sweet, chilled scenes with Paul, who they then killed off. I think TPTB just like has an angry character. I guess there's more dramatic scope that way. I do wonder about how exhausting it must be for Harry to play him like that but then again, even during his quieter scenes he tends to play Ben ramped up to 11 so maybe he prefers acting that way.

Think it's funny when he gets angry. He's just so bad at it. He's the worst out of all the actors who've played Ben.

I agree, when he is on screen, my finger starts hovering above the volume button.

Ben's 'shout and flounce' is hilarious. I nearly fell out of my chair laughing that time he started kicking the market stalls.

He needs some happiness. Let him get a new bf whether thats Johnny or a new character and let hom be happy. Whitney and Jay also need some overdue happiness.

I think he's the worse actor on eastenders I just wish they would stick a new head on him or write him out

He is such a tedious bore and I don't think I ever once seen him crack a smile. Even Lee who suffers from depression shows a glimmer of happiness every now and then. Ben is just one of those people that aren't happy unless they are miserable.

I accept the exaggeration but if you had the misery the writers pile on that particular character, I'm not sure anyone would be doing much smiling

I would definitely be up for seeing characters like Ben and Jay actually enjoying life every now and then. Not all the time because this is a soap, but just enough to make them fully feshed out human beings. It is utterly draining for me to watch two young men in their twenties acting constantly downtrodden 24/7.

In a way I agree with you, but it doesn't matter what they do on EE they are shot down for it. When the show is a bit jokey, a bit smiley everybody screams for depressing because that's what EE is, when they do depressing everybody whinges it's too depressing and unrealistic. I fully accept there is a balance to be found, but with some viewers, particularly DS viewers, it doesn't matter what they do it would be wrong

He does tend to overact a lot when angry but I blame that more on the script making Ben a one dimensional character than on Harry. The scene with Jay today shoes he does have range.

there is something they can do get rid of the actor and get someone more capable to act the part or write him out completely but a actor Harry Reid isn't

I disagree, Harry is decent when given decent material and direction. They have taken the character down the shouty route, DTC spoiled some cracking characters most of whom he introduced himself, and I am yet to be convinced that SOC will be any sort of an improvement.

If you are looking for super-talents like Alec Guinness, Judi Dench, etc. I suggest soaps aren't the place to look.

I agree with the OP. Whenever i watch Ben, i'm just waiting for him to explode, and more often than not it seem's to happen.

He's not good at shouting at all, you can tell the actor is forcing it. He's fine when he is trying to be normal though.

He overdoes the shouting sometimes but generally he is fine, easily my favourite Ben.

I've always had a soft spot for Ben but I have noticed a serious lack of development with him. I guess having to go back in the closet when he returned didn't help but his temperament too has hardly matured since he attacked Jordan let alone Heather.

I had high hopes for this current reincarnation of Ben and still hold out that he will deliver but his anger issues or rather the way he expresses his anger has been a bit of a disappointment. I really hope he learns to convey it a bit better.
