Loved her tonight! So full of passion..........OK, shouty at times and over dramatic but it fitted the scenes. So glad she told Alya to pack her bags!!

I hope this storyline will be the coming of the Nazir clan, especially Yasmeen.

I like Yasmin

I hope this is going to make Alya become super bitchy at the factory, and that she doesn't start acting meek and sorry all the time though.

I know the Nazirs have been slated left right and centre on here but I think they were all fantastic tonight

I hated Yasmeen when the Nasir's were first introduced, but I loved her tonight!

The nasir storyline is better than any other in the show at the moment

I was more interested in it than the Caz/Maria/Aiden SL tonight.

I wonder if many changes had to be made because of the Sharif actor's sudden departure.

It was good, but could have done without the cliche of Yasmeen announcing the affair in front of a room full of people.

I loved it when she kicked Sheriff and Alya out.

Alya deserved to be kicked out. That was the highlight of the episode.

Yeah, I hated the Nazirs in the beginning but they have grown on me the past few weeks, such a shame Sharif had to go and get sacked, it would be nice to have him involved in the aftermath. But Yasmeen, Alya, Zeedan and even Rana, who was insufferable in the beginning are all coming into their own.
It will be interesting to see what happens, but I think the best thing now, would be to kill off Sharif in a few months time, offscreen obviously. Then maybe bring in a brother of his, his wife and their children, make them devout muslims (because the Nazirs don't feel like a Muslim family)and really expand the family.

apparently the story was alway going to be about how they dealt with the fallout of his affair so I guess some changes as in Shariff will disappear but it will pretty much e about the remaining story and if Yasmeen and Zeedan forgive Alya

Totally agree. Loved the different reactions and Alya's involvement was great writing as well. Shame we won't see the aftermath.

Kal and Sharif were the weakest links, so hopefully now that they're both gone, the stories for the family can improve. Let's hope Sharif took his precious chickens with him! I don't mind Yasmeen and Zeedan but Alya is selfish and unlikeable. Perhaps if they turn her into a full blown bitch she will find her niche in the show.

Me too, I couldn't stand her from the first time she appeared but to-nights reaction to her cheating scumbag of a husband and scheming manipulative granddaughter was great.

Good for you Yasmeen, sock it to them!

Now Sharif has left it will be interesting to see what direction Kate Oates takes Yasmeen in.

This is what I thought. She had kept it to herself all day but chose to ruin her grandson's engagement party and embarrass him and Rana in front of Rana's parents.

Typical 'soap reveal'. I think that's lazy writing.

Sonia wasn't going to the party but Yasmin insisted she went, so she must have planned to out them in front of everyone. You just wouldn't do that in real life but of course, this isn't real life as we know it.

Not sure what you're getting at??

Two entirely different characters who to the best of my knowledge have never even shared a scene!!.
I've had the same opinion of Alya since she arrived, as the above poster I replied to said she's all out for herself, she doesn't come across as a likeable person and l don't connect with her , full stop!!

Haven't seen the episodes but I have been loving the slow rise of Yasmeen over the past few months.

From a nadir (see what I did there?) of being the scourge of DS, the Nazirs have gradually grown in popularity and Yasmeen, in my view, is the central figure in this. Zeedan is also a good character and Alya could be given the right material and direction.

Yasmeen, interestingly, has all of the hallmarks of a classic Corrie woman. If anything, the loss of Sharif via the affair is precisely the strengthening moment that the character needs. While I loathe the constant cycle of affairs, this feels different and we're seeing some of the genuine anguish that this kind of thing causes to people across the country. It doesn't feel like the quick 'shock' that we're so used to now, especially with Corrie.

I hope that Yasmeen rises from this a much stronger character. I'd like to see her extend her influence around Weatherfield and become connected to more characters. She's actually a very refreshing character type. Educated and intelligent, with a big community focus yet fiery and headstrong at the same time. There are elements of Ena Sharples in there, along with bits of Elsie and Bet ...and even some Annie Walker ... yet Yasmeen is definitely her own character.

Great work Corrie.
