Not sure what it was supposed to achieve I know Lauren had been in it a lot again recently but it did seem rather random her being ill for her friend whitneys wediing.

Likewise jack being ill with this random virus.

Maybe they got it from the bins

If that was your biggest crit, then I'd count yourself lucky considering how soap cliches go.

Or just Eastenders' classical excuse for not attending the wedding I mean we've had Jean,Ollie,Johnny,Bianca and Lauren unable to attend weddings due to them bring ill

Does anyone know why Jacqueline Jossa wasn't in the scenes for Whitney's wedding? Was she ill in real life or on holiday?

They had to excuse the notable absentees somehow.

Bianca needed a credible excuse for not being there when Tiff and Morgan were, given how young they are.

I have no idea about Lauren. Maybe JJ was ill herself or had some family emergency. Surely any holiday request would be met with: you're needed for your character's best friend's wedding then, not happening that week, sorry.

Certainly up there with the lamest excuses for characters not being at a family event in a soap maybe they should have that category at the award shows they would certainly have plenty of nominations from all the soaps.

I suspect, since Jack also had the norovirus bug and he was nothing to do with the wedding party, there is a wider storyline afoot. It's just a bit strange that Bianca, two hours away in Milton Keynes, happened to come down with the same thing.

At least they attempted to cover the plot holes.

By contrast, Coronation Street frequently fails to mention to lack of close family members appearing at funerals and weddings altogether ...

Criticising EE shouldn't be allowed should it, they should make it a crime punishable by death.

With quite a few of the characters you wouldn't notice any difference.

There is an argument that Jack was more animated during it.

The phrase as much use as a chocolate teapot springs to mind.

and I was joking about the not being allowed to criticise EE by the way.

I know ... or at least I think I know

Anyway, at least they had Tiff, Morgan and Ryan return. I think that's quite a good haul for a soap wedding.

Norovirus is actually quite common at this time of year.

I find this absence really odd as Lauren was so prominent in the build up to the wedding and also the Lauren / Steven relationship was becoming part of the storyline as a comparison to Whitneys wedding and even with the Abi link. It feels like JJ's absence must have been quite last minute and unexpected.

I was helping MyLauren get better at the time, running her a gently lavender scented bath in a candlelit bathroom, feeding her grapes that I had specially flown over from Sicily, with soft smooth jazz playing in the background.

I wonder if it was the opposite and if it was a holiday that had been booked a long time ago - before SOC came along with his own take on the stories and the (revised?) schedules just didn't allow her to be there. After all, we haven't seen any of Lauren, Steven or Jane all week (and Ian for much longer).

Having had the misfortune of having Norovirus a couple of years ago, picked up at a wedding reception in fact (the hotel was temporarily closed down for deep cleaning the fillowing week) I can confirm that It is incredibly contagious and completely debilitating for several hours and after that you just feel weak. So, completely belieavabke that people who mix with each other all the time would pass it round and that they wouldn't be abke to attend the wedding. It's not something you can swallow an Immodium to stop and get on with your day, even if the day is something as important as a friend or your daughters wedding.

They had to find some way to explain Biancas absence. Lauren I'm not as sure as but maybe Jossa was unavailable for some reason.

So she's tied up in your basement
