BBC4 have done shown some good overseas dramas so taped this. Anyone watch it? Was it any good?

Got to admit, I'm slightly put off by it being from Australia. I can't remember any dramas I've watched from Australia apart from their godawful soaps.

I lasted half an hour. Looked cheap as chips and kept reminding me visually of their terrible never-ending soaps, something which The Code mercifully managed to avoid. Shame because I like the lead actor, Noah Taylor who was very good as Johnny Royalle in Powers.

It's only a four-parter so gone after Saturday.

Well maybe I'm easily pleased, but I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to seeing the conclusion.

I recommend the Aussie drama Cloudstreet (based on the book by Tim Winton) which was shown on Sky Atlantic about four or five years ago. The first episode was a bit slow but once you've been introduced to the characters you get hooked and I was glad I kept with it, it's brilliant. The ending had me bawling and fictional tv dramas don't usually make me cry very often!

Where might I watch that?

I watched it not as good as we have been used to on sat nights on BBC 4 but better than what the other channels were offering or watching repeats, I will stick with it only because I want to know who did it.

Worth a look.

I didn't realise it was based on actual events ! Must admit, that might have made me take it more seriously. It seemed preposterous to me that the police could be that incompetent, but I guess sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.
Otherwise, I thought it was just some average old nonsense that passed the time, reasonably entertaining but instantly forgettable.

Quite enjoyed it, and it's only four hours long. It seems that when Australian police are corrupt, they are really corrupt, so fact can easily match fiction.

I may be slightly biased towards it as my daughter lives near the other end of the coastal path where the bodies are turning up.

Ahhhh, I'm watching it now. It's got the brilliant actress who plays Bea Smith from Wentworth in it. I like Aussie drama.

I stuck with it to the end, although it was a bit of a struggle following who the different characters were. Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention.

Considering it was only 4 episodes and the real-life story was shocking - 80 gay men murdered and the police did nothing - it plodded along.

Worth watching for the incredibly cute Yael Stone (I'd never seen her before)

The guy playing the male detective was Charlie Bucket's father in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Locke in Game of Thrones

I've heard of it but had no idea what it's about (until I googled it - set in a prison, I take it )

You'd hope that police attitudes would have improved over time but then we have this
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-38106593
I thought the very obvious link of the female detectives brothers "accidental" death years before was dramatic license but maybe with so many deaths it was a true if unfortunately coincidental part of the original case.

I've seen the first two seasons of OITNB but I didn't recognise her as the two roles are so different. She's certainly got range.
