Ok so basically in this thread u can talk about and discuss ANYTHING past and present about coronation street

talk about and discuss ur fave characters of all time, ur fave episodes, ur fave moments, ur fave actors, and even talk about production if u want! (Writers, producers, or whatever)

discuss ur fave years/decades for coronation street

talk about ur worst episodes, worst characters, worst moments and worst actors (if u want) of all time. just speak ur mind about coronation street, don't hold back!

u can also post clips from YouTube on this thread

i can't really word this well and i don't expect this thread to b a success, its probably gonna flop, but if ur a Corrie fan wanting to discuss anything from the past or present or just wanna post corrie clips, come on this thread!

Three hours on a saturday afternoon.

What did you think of Emily bishops relationship with her Hungarian lover, Miklos Zadic, the man she lost her virginity to despite initially refusing to have sex before marriage, We might never have got herself and Ernest together

What are your views on Norma Ford? Wasted opportunity for a classic character or deadwood that needed removing?

You started the thread on a Saturday afternoon generally the quietest day on the forum.

I can't recall her at all?

What ever happened to Phyllis Pearce?

I loved Bet Lynch. My favourite episode is the one where her and Betty get stuck in the lake! lol it used to be on Youtube but its been removed

She was a character who featured prominently in the show between 1972 and 1973, who worked in the corner shop and had an on-off relationship with Ken. She was lined up as his next wife but they decided that she was too 'rough' for Ken so paired him up with Janet instead. Norma didn't like it and left the street, never to be heard of again.

the reason i went off on one was cos it said it had loads of views but no replies. it just felt like a waste of time

i didn't think any day on this forum was quiet tbh! it seems busy all the time on here!

I like the idea of this thread but the thread title and its capitalisation annoys me.

Ok here's some questions for u all to discuss:

1) What did u think of coronation street in 2013? Especially when compared to now!
2) Who's ur fave character of all time? (Mine is a secret! no one will ever get it!)

She was played by Diana Davies who was in Emmerdale later. I think she was quite a close friend of Pat Pheonix as she's been on a couple of programmes about her.

I remember Ken's Janet - I don't think she was very nice. She said or did something so bad once that my dad called her a bitch, which was very shocking as he wasn't even that into Corrie. My mom didn’t like Janet either.

Would rather it like ED's and be called "Coronation Street - Past and Present". But maybe I'm just OCD.

Yours has got to be Clayton Hibbs, right?

Callum Logan a close second.

Hi Cool_mate, nice to see you here again!

I actually don't mind the show now, and have pretty much liked it all along. I have some issues with the writers but that's been ongoing for awhile now. Do you remember our conversation when I mentioned about the woman who played Nessa turning out an amazing (to my mind, anyhow) performance on Call The Midwife, which left her role on Corrie in the dust, and that it was all down to the writing more than her acting ability? I think most of the actors on this show aren't being allowed to bring forward their full potential and that's the fault of the writing team, and could be one of the reasons why actors like Sue Johnston left the show.

My favourite characters (plural) of all time were Hilda Ogden and Eddie Yeats. I also liked Curly and Raquel together. The scene from the past that really threw me for a loop was when Curly opened up the freezer to find Anne Malone had frozen to death in there, sitting all grey and stiff with her eyes open. The stuff of nightmares, I tell you!!

Bet and Betty were a great double act. I had a boyfriend who didn’t watch Corrie unless it was on at mine and he always used to laugh at them.

I don't think I could pick one favourite character but I do love Bet, especially with Alec. It was such a shame they split up.

yeah nice try! i think Clayton could b one of my worst characters ever!

Callum would of been ok if he'd of not been a villain. he should of just been a Mr Nice Guy character or cheeky chappy or something. IMO Sean Ward didn't fit being a baddie, and also i didn't think he was camp like ppl said

Are you obsessed with this year or something?

First half was great, second half not.

Favourite character, can't decide.

2013 was the first whole year of the show i ever saw. and so far, its my fave year I've ever seen. I just thought it was really good, its not been that good since i don't think

but 2013 was also probably one of the best years of MY life. I was still in school and all i had to worry about was how my drama performance was gonna go and how many more times i could keep getting away with not doing P.E.
