Most if not all of the people commenting on the earliest episodes here were born years after they were made.
Regardless, you'll be happy to know that Corrie was only in black and white until 1969 (and also a three-month period between 1970 and 1971 due to a strike). Not that there's anything wrong with black and white.

if u look at the post above, u will see that i probably would watch 2000s episodes, cos i remember watching corrie on and off in 2004/2005 cos i remember Charlie Stubbs and Katy Harris even tho i was only little when they were in it. those names just stick in my head i dunno why. i would watch clips of the noughties, just wouldn't wanna watch 90s or earlier, wouldn't even know who the 90s characters were!”

Interesting. You have the opposite view to me. I only started watching in 1998 but I find the earlier episodes far more alluring (after the first 25 years my interest drops with each decade, broadly speaking). I'm a fan of Corrie so I've gone back and watched them and found them to be better than the current stuff. Age doesn't matter.
Mind you, 2009 was probably the worst year in Corrie history so I wouldn't start with that.
