I rewatched the first couple of weeks a while back and I actually really liked Mary, she was odd poor thing but I think she was a nice person, and she completely saw Saskia for what she was a loud gobby self centred cow and fair play she stood her ground against Saskia shrieking against her in the confrontation she had. Sad to see Mary fall so much but glad to see she has a few fans that also ranked her highly!


what a fall for Ahmed! He has slid down the rankings, I thought he was a great HM not one I liked as a person per say but completely bonkers and made great tv in a very crazy house! Shocked to see him fall so much, he was a good differnt type of housemate imo.

That was almost me. I ranked him at 68. As a self-confessed BB4 fan who genuinely enjoyed it, I don't think Gos was any more boring than any of his other fellow HMs. I can remember him being the father figure of the house and he was a very good peacemaker. He also has the honour of being the only HM whose eviction had to be delayed until the next day, due to a bomb scare. And he was a laugh when he got evicted and during his interview. Just before the interview, Davina said something like they had had such fun during the ad break.


After Becki did the Judas kiss, she suddenly got a lot of unfair dislike, which I think was down to her choosing Michelle. If she had chosen someone like Jason, I don't think she would have had those comments. It came across like the public were spitting their dummies out that the person they wanted up wasn't. And it wasn't as if Becki wanted to nominate Michelle. It looked like it was the last thing she wanted to do both before and after she did it.


I forgot about that moment. I agree that he sometimes said things that he thought people would like to hear.

I can also remember during the "loyalty points" task, where if the HMs wanted the gift that BB was offering them, then they could press their button and it would be theirs, he made such a big fuss about wanting to see his son. Emma had pressed her button to see her boyfriend on two separate occasions and Jackson made her feel really bad about it, saying things like how desperate he was to see him and that her doing that meant that he might not be able to do that. (IIRC, wasn't the reason Emma broke out of the house the second time because he mentioned it again?). But when it came to his turn and he found out that one of the gifts was indeed to see his son, he initially refused to press it. He made such a big song and dance about wanting to see him and saying that he might not get to because of Emma, but when he had the chance to, he very nearly didn't. To me, it came across like he didn't initially press it because he wanted the public to feel sorry for him.

I had Gos at 77. I thought he was a lovely guy too, very genuine, he was a bit lazy! But i do think a geuninely nice guy

I was a BB4 fan too, Gos certainly was a very underated Hm.

Re Becki, why do you say she didnt want to nom Michelle ? If that was the case then why did she - she did have a free choice after all but even so still she DID nom Michelle - that was her choice and no one elses? She felt bad about the way she had to do it, not who she did it to imo

I think the "loyalty" task was one of three turning points of the series. The first being Annihilation week one of Jason single handedly kicking the favourite to win Lateysha out of the house, the 2nd the loyalty task and the last being the court room task.

The loyalty task for me was at that point in the series where viewers were now starting to think of who they wanted to win. Jackson was the only one who took the money who then ended up in the final. Ryan and Alex lost a lot of points from the viewers there (well Alex moreso because Ryan was annoying people long before). Jackson was lucky to make it as far as he did. He was very hypocritical and Evelyn's disembowelment of Jackson (what I called it) was one of the best things I saw and earned her a few points with the public. She went so in on him and he had no answer of explanation on his hypocrisy.

And the last and biggest turning point came just two days before the final with the courtroom task which IMO was a big indication on how the final 2 days went. And the fact that Alex was evicted before Evelyn in a positive vote was brilliant to watch. So thoroughly deserved.

Nice to see so much Gos appreciation. I was the one to rank him at 67.
I thought he was a lot of fun, very genuine, kept the group together and he was a chef so was a hard worker used to long hours.
It felt like the tediousness of the house and lack of things to do really brought him down.

BB1 has perhaps my fave female line-up of any series.


On the otherhand I gave Aaron his lowest. I didn't like him as soon as he entered, I immediately got the impression he was shallow, brainless and worryingly desperate for attention. Sadly I was right.

John James climbed 32 places?! What's going on?! The most repulsive man (it was person, until Helen came along) to ever be on the show.
BB11 was so awful. So exciting to get 24/7 live feeds back, only to be left watching him and Josie under the sheets, Dave being a pillock, and irritants like Shabby, Govan and Caoimhe stuck up their own arses. One of the worst series ever, with the worst male to ever be on the show. 199 is far too high a place for him; are you sure you calculated his placings properly?


Swap Jale for Toya and you've got the best of BB15. Glad to see DS has some taste, at least!

I had John James at 267, I am completely shocked at his placing too, to me he was one of the many males who thought being good looking (and he wasn't really) would get him far, he was vapid, incinsere and his showmance with JOsie was nauseating to watch. Completely agree top 200 was way too high for him. I though Caoimhe was okay though, and I liked Shabby!

I think that drop is a bit of a shame. It's understandable that a lot of people dislike her as she could be incredibly unreasonable in arguments, but she had personality and her own sense of right and wrong, which should place her above the likes of Winston.

Her reaction to Aisleyne's comment to her (to the effect that she fought people because she didn't believe that any love and friendship was going to last, and preferred not to be hurt) explained quite a lot imo.
It seemed like quite a poignant moment to me - rare for a late BB - but then I'm quite sentimental.

Anyway I think that's the first of my top 30 gone.

Yes indeed. Ahmed is the second of my top 30 to go, and it seems I gave him his highest ranking. I'm sure others have ranked him higher in years gone by.

Admittedly I haven't reevaluated his placing recently, nor re-watched BB5, but he was memorable without being spiteful SFAIK, (merely argumentative) and there are plenty of HMs you can't say that of. The plate-smashing due to the baby-cry alarm and the world's least subtle attempted military coup remain easy to recall.

Most of my bottom 20 are out. Suspect it may still be a while for one or two of them though.

Contrary to some posters above, I thought that Toya was a complete muppet. I think she benefits quite a lot from having been opposed to Helen's crowd. Judged on her own merits she didn't come across well.

She immediately fell in with Pauline et al's victimisation of Jale at the start. She also developed her own vendetta against Marlon to an extent which seemed completely out of proportion to his faults and involved explicitly looking down on him for having an ordinary job when she was supposedly a star. She had an ego the size of Mars, was very bitchy, managed to make Ash look reasonable on the night of 'calm the f*** down' and came across as a terrible wannabe on BOTS.

I had her at 274.

BB6's Craig continues to yo-yo up and down the rankings; this year he takes a slight fall back after a massive climb last year. He was very much a key character throughout 2016 and is the Housemate that I think gave Anthony his win (that and all the other people who could challenge were evicted against Orlaith who then walked). He managed to last until the final week, however was evicted just before the final night in 5th place.

Two years ago BB7’s Golden Ticket winner took a huge climb up the rankings, last year she plummeted and this year she takes a further drop down. Susie entered as part of a Golden Ticket winner twist and subsequently didn’t really do much other than have tea and ration the food during her time. He inclusion though did create a few of Nikki’s most quotable moments and also lead to the Grace water incident.

Ha yes, Susie's greatest contribution to BB folklore - is being the inspiration for the "Who is she - where did you find her!?!" Quote !

After a massive drop last year, BB6’s Saskia surges back up the rankings and more than recovers last year’s fall. Alongside Maxwell she was an early favourite of BB6, however that all changed after they heard cheers for themselves and it all then turned on its head. Saskia had some big arguments in her time with Mary, Makosi, Derek and Roberto and found herself up for eviction against Maxwell whereupon she was evicted from the house.

After a massive climb last year, BB8’s Charley takes a further rise in the rankings this year. I’ve rewatched the first 4 weeks (maybe 5) of BB8 recently and Charley was a Housemate I didn’t like at the time, however seeing it again she is actually more amusing than I remembered and actually had she not been there given some of the early evictions, it would’ve been such a dull house. She returned in BB16 and showed a calmer side and I think helped contribute to her massive climb that year.
