BB13 were released, and there was a report on the votes in the final for BB15 as there were so many complaints.

However the actual %'s weren't released, which is why I said..

Quote:
“the closest known Big Brother UK winners results”

As its not as though the %'s for the BB15 final are on the wiki page for it

I'm surprised there were that many votes

The % difference was revealed on the actual show. The voting amount was revealed online and is on Wiki. I know we shouldn't trust Wiki but I think they are correct.

Another BB11 HM next as after two years of falls down the rankings, Ife leaps back up and re-enters the top 150 HMs. I liked Ife and whilst she wasn't the most exciting of HMs I think she seemed a nice person, however didn't really fit in within the house. Her initial Shabby/ Caoimhe clique dissolved and then she didn't really have any allies before being nominated and evicted against Corin and Mario.”

It's a shame BB couldn't develop Ife's story more after she broke away from the trio. She had a funny bond with Mario where she would use him as a sounding board while he poked fun at her, making her more angry. But I guess they couldn't fit that in the edit along with the hideous showmance.

Up next our first new entry in the top 150 is Chelsea; I was actually surprised to see him ranked so highly by many, however he was mostly harmless and was a bit of a 2D caricature rather than a proper HM. Chelsea was one of many who knew an 'Other Housemate' in Jayne; however the storyline went nowhere. Chelsea managed to last until Annihilation Week until he became the first victim and voted out by his fellow Housemates.”

I found my opinion softening towards him just before he left. He was much more rootable as an outcast, but I couldn't rank him too high after he constantly dripped poison about Jayne to anyone that would listen.

BB2's Amma took a huge climb up the rankings last year and this year basically stands still. She was the 5th Housemate to be evicted in BB2 after being one of the HMs to have to face Paul and be ousted from the house. She is possibly best remembered for her massive argument with Stuart and also shaving her privates in full view of the cameras and housemates.”

I found Amma very amusing and I was not happy she was evicted against Paul.
The evictions are part of the reason why BB2 is really not one of my favourites. 3 out of the 4 housemates in the last week never even faced eviction.
Now BB3 on the otherhand, not a week goes by where one of the finalists didn't face eviction. That's how you do it!

That was me. lol
BB2 was not one of my favourites so I needed to focus on someone a bit more mature to get through it.
I remember her audition video involved her running naked on a terribly cold beach. Can't get that pasty white wobbly bottom out of my head.

Josie takes a fall back down the rankings this year after a massive climb last year (in fact the 2nd biggest of that year). She also drops back in the winners stakes as she is overtaken by Anthony and slips from 5th lowest back to 4th lowest which she had been previously. Josie was the last winner on the Channel 4 series and whilst she was an amusing Housemate, the powers that be decided to do away with all her competition the week before the final, meaning she won by a landslide.”

My opinion of Josie seems to have changed more than any other housemate.
I ranked her in my top 25 following her win, but since then I've totally lost what her appeal was. I find her that unlikeable now I struggle keeping her out of my bottom 50.

Another BB11 Housemate next as Rachel takes a massive climb back up and reverses her big drop from last year. She was a late entrant to BB11 and entered alongside Andrew and Keeley. I think she got a bit of a rough time from John James in the house as she was a bit loud, which the others seemed not to like. In the end she was evicted from the house whilst being up against Dave and John James of all people!!!!”

Like Sam Kay, she was another newbie expected to know your role and shut your mouth.

She was really quite harmless and being evicted against two people as vicious as Dave and John James was a little bizarre.

Online - just on Wiki?

The thing with Wiki, is that anyone can post or alter anything on there, so you can never be 100% certain of any stats so claimed on there ! Unless it comes from C5 themselves or someone authorised by C5, then i would be very wary. That figure of 450,000, between the top two in the final itself, even in the C5 era, given the prevalence of multivoting that goes on, is highly suspect - remember the real number of individuals voting would be a lot less than that figure if its correct and the audience is around 1.5 million, if say a quarter voted, and thats being generous, no one could vote more than twice, which is simply not realistic in this day and age!

This is probably a bit eccentric, but I'm putting my reply to this in spoilers because the topic feels out of place on this thread

I never got any sense of any anti-Semitism there at all.

As a Lib Dem I suppose I ought to be gloating over another party's internal problems but I just can't. I wonder if every Labour member accused of being an anti-Semite really is? There's the odd one where I know that they are but this one came out of the blue and seems very out of character when I think of the person whom I met all those years ago. Could her words have been twisted or taken out of context? I don't know.

The best to you all,

Jonty”

Spoiler
Hi Jonty,

To take the last point first: I wouldn't necessarily expect fair context from the Guido Fawkes blog which was ultimately the origin of the story (before the Sun and everyone else); it leans to the right and is hardly principled. However, there have been blogs etc defending Beinazir and claiming to give the full context, specifically that the second quote in its entirety was:
‘Jews are not zionists lets get that straight just like Muslims are NOT Isis, in fact I’ve heard some compelling evidence about Isis being originated from zionists!’ Link
Beinazir has stressed repeatedly that her partner has Jewish heritage. She hasn't added anything to the above SFAIK. (Her Twitter account is fairly active again.)

You can make your own judgment about whether that's OK. It doesn't really satisfy me.

There are often grey areas in racism and perhaps antisemitism in particular. Racist people don't always (or even usually) think of themselves as racist. It's also quite possible to be prejudiced against a whole of people in general and make exceptions for some, especially those you know. I believe even some of the top Nazis tried to find exceptions and escape routes for Jewish families they had a connection to.

Israel is obviously a focal point. It would be absurd to suggest that all criticism of Israel is antisemitic (though some people pretty much do). On the other hand people who really are antisemitic can channel their views through relentless, crude, criticism of Israel and zionists (by which they mean Jews and friends of Jews). It's sometimes difficult to know where to draw the line, but it's not when someone suggests that zionists are behind 9/11 and ISIS.

I can't really pass judgment on Beinazir as I don't know enough about her, but if she isn't antisemitic she's at least very foolish to give credence to this stuff. She should be distancing herself from what she's said/done rather than complaining about context.

Anyway she was reinstated as a Labour councillor in May. Whether that's a vindication of her or just shows that Labour is embarrassingly weak on this issue I don't know. I suspect the latter.

Thanks but no mention of the figure of 450,000 then? Or any indication of the individual totals, just the gaps between and a certain amount at a certain time but no actual totals?

I don't know about totals but one thing I do remember is that this statement was altered some time after first publication - an extra paragraph was added, I think.

I don't think Ch5 ever announced the overall totals (you wouldn't expect them to these days), but someone reckoned they could work them out beyond question from the info they had given:

BB 2014 Voting Percentages - An Analysis

They thought the total number of votes was a little under 400,000 though.

Edit: As SF says, that thread mentions that paragraph 9 - about the votes cast in the final 9 minutes - was added later.

I think it's both interesting but also likely that a huge amount of votes were cast during the Final 2. The two girls were in two different camps, most likely, if you liked one, it was likely you didn't like the other. So, couple that with the fact Emma mentioned how close the vote was, it's not surprising that both Helen and Ashleigh received a huge bunch of votes in those last few mins (let's not undermine the vote transfers either of votes of evicted HMs going to other people), probably how Ash beat Chris, he was competing with only Helen for split votes, whereas Chris would have potentially be splitting with Ashleigh, Pav and Christopher.

With Ashleigh and Christopher certainly but I can't imagine there being much crossover in support between Little Chris and Pav

I think Chris would have been a cross-over. They were friends and a lot of people who liked one probably liked the other. They are still very good friends.

Yeah Pav maybe not.

Little Chris is also still friendly with Ashleigh which kind of makes a nonsense of the idea propagated by some people that once the show was finished she'd want nothing more to do with him. The idea was that once she saw episodes and articles she'd totally buy into the whole Creepy Chris thing

BB9's Mo takes a further climb up the rankings this year after a big drop a few years ago. Mohamed had a bit of a hard time in the house coming under constant scrutiny first by Alexandra and then was the victim of spitgate which lead to Dennis’ removal from the house. Bex also cut up one of his belts and seemed to receive constant comments about his eating/ greediness. Despite this he lasted until the final 7, however was part of a double eviction which saw the back of him and Kat.

BB12’s Alex basically stands still in the rankings this year and remains outside of the top 100. Alex was the favourite to win BB12 (with the bookies) for near enough the entire series; despite Aaron winning every vote to save and polling around 70% of most online forums/ sites. She was a harmless Housemate who had some amusing moments but I don’t think bought much to the series as a whole.

Now a Radio 1 DJ; BB3's Adele continues to climb the rankings this year. Adele was one of the first Housemate to receive mass boo’s upon her eviction from the house (now it’s a weekly occurrence) and to be honest she wasn’t awful; she was just miserable and couldn’t stand certain people. She came up against Jonny, Kate and Jade in the vote and despite Jade being one of the most disliked Housemates throughout her time to that point, Adele was evicted from the house.
