Did you like Ore's Salsa?

I thought it was a perfectly fine Strictly salsa-disco Latin and he performed it with style. My problem, speaking as someone yet to be won over by him but not hating him floating voter, was that they told us in the film to look for hips and continuous movement and then he didn't do hips and continuous movement. So I felt that lack had been highlighted for me. And I felt that the judges glossed over that lack which they wouldn't have done for some others. So that bugged me but doesn't stop me thinking it was a pretty good Strictly dance.

Nope, he hardly danced, too busy with lifts which weren't very good.

No. Couldn't understand the hype.

Better than last week but nowhere near the jive or the Gene Kelly. I've chucked him a couple of votes again.

No

It wasn't a salsa, he didn't move his hip, he signalled the lifts, they weren't effortless.

Most importantly he and Jo are barely partners, they both occupy the dance floor at the same time, but they don't connect, even a little bit, in a lot of their dances they are choreographed to do different things. It's really odd and once you see it, you can't unsee it.

I am not at all sure what the judges see because I don't recognise the remarks they make about them at all.

Crap.
But then salsa is NOT about disco and lifts. I'm still waiting for one to equal Mark and Karen's.

There was one bit I liked but the rest was 'meh' and I normally do Like Ore and Joanne. I'm not normally a fan of Strictly Salsa's anyway though.

Loved the side by side stuff. Could have watched that for the whole routine. Getting rid of the lifts would have helped. The guy can dance.

Yes, I said something similar last week.
He is a bit Stepford wife, says the right things, but it seems a bit clinical, a job.
He and Jo and he don't have a connection imo.

Disagree with the judges who loved the lifts, I thought they were messy, laboured and went on for too long.

Not much but I can count on one hand the number of Salsas I've liked on the show.

I know a lot of folk are keen to ditch the Rumba and/or the Charleston - but for me it's the Salsa that's gotta go. The Strictly ones mostly never look like anything in particular. We just get a series of (usually messy) lifts with bits of party dancing in between.

I disagree that Ore and Jo don't have a connection though. I do sense a togetherness when they dance. But I don't think he's as good a dancer as the judges are leading him to believe he is and that's only going to harm him. He's got plenty of natural ability but I think he needs more criticism to help him make the most of and refine that raw talent.

No - There were too many lifts and it lacked fluidity of movement or much in the way of hip action. It was too stop/start and was very overmarked.

His jive and AS were superb, but since then (the last 3 weeks?) he's been far from impressive IMO.

It was a dreadful piece of choreography with no flow, interrupted by lifts. Tbh none of the salsas have been very good this series and I can see why it's become one of the lowest scoring Latin dances.

If they're still getting outsiders in to do the routines they really need someone else!

I enjoyed but not overly much. 32-34 seemed a reasonable mark?

No. It wasn't salsaish enough for me.

No. It was adequate, but I was expecting him to handle this style better. It didn't have the smooth continuous movement it should have, there was little flow into or out of the lifts, and I could see him concentrating on the performance and steps rather than just dancing.

I'm not in the "Ugh, Ore" camp. I genuinely enjoyed his Jive and American Smooth and felt the praise he received from the judges for those dances was well deserved. This Salsa was over marked by Len and Bruno and over praised by all the judges.
What name??

No too bitty and not enough fluidity. I wish rather than telling them to wiggle their hips they would just tell them to take smaller steps so the hip action comes naturally.

It was ok but the Vicki Sue Robinson track did make it come across more 70s disco than salsa

Sorry but I didn't. It was too jerky and not smooth and flowing. The lifts seemed to be added on for effect and not part of the actual dance.

Have a look at Jay's salsa from Blackpool last year to compare.

Me neither, could do without the salsa, always seems too frantic.

Actually having seen Jay and Aliona's Salsa again, really enjoyed this, but it was way better than tonight's offering.
