Emily becoming boring

I loved Emily up until the judges houses but since being in the live shows, I have found her performances incredibly dull. I much prefer her when she's playing the guitar instead of the dull John Lewis advert-esque arrangements. Tbf, her performance of Creep last week was defnitely her best and for me was the only decent performance of her's since live show 1. I hope that she is allowed to play the guitar in future as these slowed down songs don't tend to go anywhere vocally.

I see her as a bit like Janet Devlin but not as good.

I actually like this week's performance and the creative was so simple but stunning. I think where Emily has slightly ruined it for herself was in weeks 2 and 3 when sang Stop in the name of love and How Will I Know? With those two she literally did nothing but stand and sing with a single light on her and as such those 2 performances were wasted. This one had more to it and I noticed that she tried to push herself vocally more than she has before but I do agree she needs to an uptempo number next week.

the problem with last nights arrangement was it removed the oh-oh-oh bit.

That is the hook for the entire song. It took away the bit that people recognise about the song she was singing, so it became just a series of slowly sung and sometimes off key lyrics.

Also, Sandy Shaw used to rock a stage in bare feet, watch her sing puppet on a string, I don't know where the trend for bare feet and slow songs came from, but Sandy is not it.

Agree with those that say give her her guitar back. They need to let her do her own style that made her popular in the early auditions.

But this is what they do. They put through talented people with different styles but in the live shows they over style them and it often doesn't work.

Beyond the Whitney/Beyonce/Leona type belters they have no clue what to do with a lot of acts like this.

I want to see unique acts, their talents - what THEY do - not this X-Factor-ified drivel.

It's just a mincing machine really. Chuck em all in together. Probably why I always tune out when it gets to lives.

It's the XF branding exercise.

Give them ballads every week and call them dull. In the end the parrots repeat it, the label sticks, and she gets voted out.

Creep was brilliant because it was supposed to be sang that way, so it worked. I feel like when she slows down catchy pop songs like How Will I Know and What Makes You Beautiful it just feels so maudlin. I think those two are both brilliant songs, but the appeal is how fun and upbeat and catchy they are. Sometimes slowing down songs like that does work, like when Ella did Believe, but when it's all the time to any given song it is so tedious.

No one on the judging panel has called them dull. She gets praised every week.

She is boring. I liked her at judges houses but turning uptemp songs into a funeral march week after week is dull, I'm sorry to say it.

It's the same thing week after week.

Never mind boring. This week she was off-key for most of the song, as well!

BIB is very generous.

Simon seemingly wants her to be Drew Ryniewicz (USXF1).

That was Lauren Platt in Andreas years tbf she did try some songs at a faster pace. Her how will I know performance was dancing and fast and was arguably one of her best performances.

Lauren Platt does the routine much better than Emily as it actually suits her to do this kinda thing, it doesn't suit Emily.

I liked Emily I think she should have gone through to the lives last time instead of the some of the rot that did.

However its quickly coming apparent she either cant or they wont give her a fast song. One Direction must have been turning over in there grave last Saturday.

Creep was excellent. She reminds me a bit of Ellie Goulding voicewise yet Ellie can sing fast songs and even featured on dance tracks and is versatile. The way Emily is going she wont win.
