Scart Switcher
Hi All,
Last year I bought a little 3 way SCART switcher box to complement my poor old 13 year old Toshiba which only has one SCART socket . The box has 3 little buttons to swich the SCART output . It works OK but there's a strange problem . I've only 2 inputs , my "VCR" and my "PS2" (full RGB scart) . If the PS2 is off I can switch to "VCR" and everything works fine . The problem is if the Playstaion is powered ON and I change to "VCR" the PS2 picture shows up on the TV as a "rolling" picture and I can't see the VCR . I have to physically switch off or unplug the PS2 SCART in order to see my VCR . I presume it's one of the PS2 wires but I'm not sure which one. I know the SCART box is pretty crappy but I was holding off buying anything expensive until the TV blows up . You can see it here . http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/commer...&cgrfnbr=66354 I'd prefer just to cut one of the PS2 SCART wires if one of you kind people could tell me which one's the culprit . Thanks Paul |

I have the same problem, but with a non-switchable 3-way SCART adapter. I can only have one attached device switched on at a time otherwise there is a mixture of signals, with exactly the same symptoms as you describe. It sounds like there's some signal contamination going on, despite yours being a switched device. Is it a big problem to have only the VCR or PS2 powered on at any one time?

Oh dear...NEVER buy a SCART Switch box from Argos, they're renouned for their CRAP quality and signal leakage.
Check this link.... http://www.lektropacks.co.uk/acatalo...ntrols_10.html Look at code BT21, second one down. This is the one I use and i've had NO problems with it. It's fully RGB, S-Video compatible & auto WS switching. btw, you should be able to get it for around the £10 mark from somewhere else. PoisonMonkey You should NEVER use a 'SCART Splitter', they are not meant for inputting devices. I wouldn't even use it for an OUTPUT device (it's purpose) as it degrades the quality of the signal. |

You can get virtually the same switch as the BT21 in Argos. 534/0370 - £9.75

Many , many thanks for the replies . As I stated earlier I knew my little switching box was mince but money is money and the TV is a plain standard Nicam 21". I like that BT21 . I'll look around and pick one up .
Thanks to all Paul |

Hi Dave ,
I went for the Argos 534/0370 (Thanks Glen) . Got a relative to buy it for me as there are no Argos's here in Spain . They won't be bringing it over till next month so I can't comment on it yet . Paul |
